CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE
BY-LAW NO. 2001-009
Being a By-law to Appoint Representative to the Planning Advisory
Committee
.
WHEREAS Section 8, subsection 1 of the Planning Act R.S.O. 1990, Chapter
P.13, as amended provides that the Council of a municipality may appoint a
Planning Advisory Committee composed of such persons as the Council may
determine;
AND WHEREAS Council deems it expedient to do so;
NOW THEREFORE, Council of The Corporation of the Township of Oro-
Medonte hereby enacts as follows:
1 . THAT the purpose of the Oro-Medonte Planning Advisory Committee is to
recommend to Council the proper and orderly development of the
Municipality while having regard for the environment, character, heritage,
aesthetics, safety, economics, and land use compatibility with a mind to
the greater public good.
2. THAT the Mandate of the Oro-Medonte Planning Advisory Committee is:
· To act as an advisory body for Council. All recommendations on
development proposals shall be forwarded to Council in a clear and
concise manner for their consideration.
· To provide recommendations on comprehensive policy statements as
Council sees fit.
· To aid in adopting a development process, within existing legislation,
in order to expedite Council's and the public's consideration of
development proposals.
· To effectively work within existing legislation and policy frameworks.
· To provide opinions unencumbered by potential conflict or potential or
perceived pecuniary interest.
· To work as a collective whole.
3. THAT the Planner, Township Planning Consultant, Township Engineer,
and Township Solicitor will be available to work in conjunction with the
members in their advisory functions to Council, as deemed appropriate.
4. That the following persons shall be Members of the Oro-Medonte
Planning Advisory Committee for the term of the Council that appointed
them or until their successors are appointed. Where a member ceases to
be a member before the expiration of his or her term, the Council may
appoint another eligible person for the unexpired portion of the term:

Susan Grant
Don Bell
Robert Barlow
Frances Sutton
5. THAT the Mayor as ex-officio and two members of Council will also be
members of the Committee.
6. THAT persons appointed to the Planning Advisory Committee shall be
paid such remuneration and expenses as Council provides.

7. THAT By-law No. 98-34 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
8. That this By-law shall come into force and take effect on its final passing
thereof.
By-law read a first and second time this 17th day of January 2001.
By-law read a third time and finally passed this 17th day of January 2001 .
