CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO-MEDONTE
BY-LAW NO. 2002-099
Being a By-Law to Appoint Members to the Accessibility Advisory
Committee
WHEREAS Section 207, subsection 45 of the Municipal Act, RS.O. 1990,
Chapter MA5, as amended, provides for appointing such officers as may be
necessary for the purposes of the corporation;
AND WHEREAS Council of The Corporation of the Township of Oro-Medonte
deems it expedient to do so;
NOW THEREFORE, Council of The Corporation of Oro-Medonte enacts as
follows:
1. That the purpose of the Oro-Medonte Accessibility Advisory Committee shall
be to formulate an Accessibility Plan for Council consideration to promote
equal opportunity and access for all persons, regardless of needs, in order
that all persons may participate as fully as possible in all aspects of
community life in the Township of Oro-Medonte.
2. That the mandate of the Oro-Medonte Accessibility Advisory Committee shall
be:
a) To act as an advisory body to Council. All recommendations shall be
forwarded to Council through the Chair for consideration;
b) To advise, review and make recommendations to Council with respect to
related Federal and Provincial legislative matters and Township policy.
c) To review annually the Accessibility Plan and recommend goals and
objectives relating to accessibility issues in the Township for Council
consideration.
3. That the following persons are hereby appointed, at the pleasure of Council,
as Members of the Oro-Medonte Accessibility Advisory Committee for the
term of the Council that appointed them and/or until their successors are
appointed and are otherwise eligible for appointment:
Councillor Ruth Fountain (Chair)
Bonnie MacDougall
Debbie Mooney
Drew Rigden
Resource Staff
Mayor J. Neil Craig (ex-officio)
4. That persons appointed to the Oro-Medonte Accessibility Advisory
Committee shall be paid such remuneration and expenses as Council
provides.
5. That this By-law shall come into force and take effect on its final passing
thereof.
