PUBLIC MEETINGS: a) Proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-Law, 2007-ZBA-05, Part of the West Half of Lot 8, Concession 3 (Oro), Township of Oro-Medonte, 2105 Line 2 North (Lester and Rosetta Parry). Deputy Mayor Ralph Hough called the public meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. and explained the public meeting has been called under the Planning Act, Section 34, R.S.O. 1990 c.P.13, to obtain public comment with respect to a proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law, Application 2007-ZBA-05 (Lester and Rosetta Parry), Part of the West Half of Lot 8, Concession 3 (Oro) Township of Oro- Medonte, 2105 Line 2 North. Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed to landowners within 120m (400 feet) of the specified site on September 20, 2007 and posted on a sign on the subject property on September 20, 2007. The following correspondence was received at the meeting: Simcoe County District School Board dated September 27, 2007. Bruce Hoppe, Director of Building and Planning, explained the purpose and effect of the proposed amendment. The following public members offered verbal comments with respect to the proposed amendment: None. The Deputy Mayor advised that written submissions will be received at the Township offices until October 19, 2007. No additional deputations to Council will be permitted with respect to the proposed amendment. A digital recording of the meeting is available for review at the Township Administration Centre, 148 Line 7 South. There being no further comments or questions, the meeting adjourned at 7:15 p.m. 9. Motion No, C071010-6 Moved by Hough, Seconded by Crawford Be it resolved that the motion with respect to Report No. RC 2007-21, Shawn Binns, Manager of Recreation and Community Services, re: Oil Tank Replacements -Hawkestone Community Hall, Carley Community Hall and Oro- Medonte Community Arena be deferred to allow staff to investigate the cost of installing natural gas at the Oro-Medonte Community Arena. Report No. RC 2007-21, Shawn Binns, Manager of Recreation and Community Services, re: Oil Tank Replacements - Hawkestone Community Hall, Carley Community Hall and Oro-Medonte Community Arena be received and adopted. 2. That staff be authorized to replace the fuel oil tank at Carley Community Hall at an expense of $1,450 plus taxes. 3. That staff be authorized to remove the underground fuel oil tank at the Oro- Medonte Community Arena and replace with a 500 gallon above ground tank at an inclusive expense of $11,552 plus taxes. 4. And Further that the total expenses for the replacement of oil tanks at the Oro-Medonte Community Arena and Carley Community Hall be financed from the facility replacement reserve fund. Carried. b) Bob Bowles, Kids for Turtles Environmental Education, correspondence dated October 3, 2007 re: Turtle Crossing Signs in Township of Oro-Medonte. The correspondence dated October 3, 2007 from Bob Bowles, Kids for Turtles Environmental Education, re: Turtle Crossing Signs in Township of Oro-Medonte be received. 2. That Council supports Mr. Bowles', Kids for Turtles Environmental Education request that the Township of Oro-Medonte install and place 10 "Turtle Crossing" signs in the Township of Oro-Medonte upon the conditions that: - Mr. Bowles provides the 10 signs, mounting hardware and $765.00 for the labour and material, and - Mr. Bowles agrees to absorb all costs associated with the replacement of damaged or stolen signs, including the signs and the cost of installation. 3. And Further That the Public Works Superintendent advise Mr. Bowles of Council's decision. Carried. 15.
