RECOGNITION OF ACHIEVEMENTS: a) Lesley Mijatovic, Registrar & Manager, Human Resources Professionals Association of Ontario, correspondence dated February 1, 2007 re: Tamara Obee, Achievement of Recertification of Certified Human Resources Professional Designation. Motion No. C070228-5 Moved by Coutanche, Seconded by Allison Be it resolved that the correspondence dated January 24, 2007 and verbal information presented by Jim McIntosh, Board President, Hospice Simcoe, re: Hospice Simcoe Mission, Residential Hospice Update and Request of Support be received and that the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte support the initiatives of Hospice Simcoe. Page 5 Council Meeting Minutes- February 28, 2007 Motion No. C070228-11 (Amendment) Moved by Agnew, Seconded by Crawford Be it resolved that the motion with respect to the correspondence dated January 31, 2007 from Fred Nix, Chair, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, re: Clean Water Act and Role of Conservation Authorities be amended to include "that Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte supports the concerns raised in the January 31, 2007 correspondence from Fred Nix, Chair, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority re: Clean Water Act and Role of Conservation Authorities; and that the Ministry of the Environment and Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority be notified of Council's decision". Carried. Carried. b) Heather Reid, Assistant Clerk, The Corporation of the Town of New Tecumseth, correspondence dated February 13, 2007 re: Resolution to Province Petitioning Sustainable Funding for Conservation Authorities. Motion No. C070228-15 Moved by Evans, Seconded by Crawford Be it resolved that 1. The correspondence dated February 13, 2007 from Heather Reid, Assistant Clerk, The Corporation of the Town of New Tecumseth, re: Resolution to Province Petitioning Sustainable Funding for Conservation Authorities be received. That the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte endorse the Town of New Tecumseth's resolution to Premier Dalton McGuinty respectfully requesting that the Province of Ontario ensure that fair, equitable and sustainable funding is made available to Conservation Authorities in order for them to continue to deliver their existing programs as well as meet the additional demands of the future. And Further That Premier Dalton McGuinty, Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority; Garfield Dunlop, MPP, Simcoe North; and the Town of New Tecumseth be advised of Council's decision. Motion No. C070228-16 Moved by Allison, Seconded by Coutanche Be it resolved that 1. The correspondence dated February 16, 2007 from Fred Nix, Chair, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, re: Provincial/Municipal - Conservation Authority Funding Shortfall be received. 2. That the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte request that the Provincial Municipal Fiscal and Service Delivery Review address the adequacy of funding from the Province of Ontario to Conservation Authorities. 3. That the Township of Oro-Medonte supports the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority collaborating with Conservation Ontario, Association of Municipalities of Ontario and other necessary parties to petition the Province of Ontario to provide comprehensive funding for all provincially mandated programs. 4. And Further That Premier Dalton McGuinty, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority and Garfield Dunlop, MPP, Simcoe North be advised of Council's decision. Carried. d) Association of Municipalities of Ontario, re: AMO 2007 Annual Conference, August 19-22, 2007, Westin Ottawa Hotel & Ottawa Congress Centre.
