REPORTS OF MUNICIPAL OFFICERS: a) Councillor Marshall, re: Private Members Motion – Trent-Severn Waterway, Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, Board of Directors’ Meeting Minutes, BOD-08-06. Motion No. C061018-5 Moved by Marshall, Seconded by Crawford Be it resolved that Given the geographical linkages of the Trent-Severn Waterway, Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay and the corresponding recreational and economic benefits to the communities within the Trent-Severn Waterway’s geographical area; And That the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, at their Board of Directors’ Meeting of August 25, 2006 by resolution #BOD-06-119, did support MP Bruce Stanton’s Private Members Motion M-161: “That, in the opinion of the House, the government should consider the advisability of evaluating the future of the Historic Trent-Severn Waterway, one of Parks Canada’s National Historic Sites, and its potential to become: a) a premier recreational asset; b) a world-class destination for recreational boaters; c) a greater source of clean, renewable electrical power; d) a facilitator of economic opportunity and renewal in the communities along its 386 km length; and e) a model of environmental sustainability.” That the Council of the Township of Oro-Medonte supports MP Bruce Stanton’s Private Members Motion M-161 – Trent-Severn Waterway; And that the Township of Oro-Medonte forward a letter of support to Bruce Stanton, MP Simcoe North, encouraging federal support for the health of the Lake Simcoe Watershed; And that the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, Severn Sound Environmental Association and the Lake Simcoe Watershed Member municipalities be advised of Council’s decision. Motion No. C061018-6 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by Marshall Be it resolved that the verbal information presented by Doug Irwin, Clerk, re: Council Meeting of November 1, 2006 be received; that the start time for the November 1, 2006 Council meeting be changed from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and further that the public and staff be notified accordingly. Carried. 13. REPORTS OF COMMITTEES: a) Committee of the Whole minutes, meeting held on October 11, 2006. COMMUNICATIONS: a) Doreen Raymer, correspondence dated October 3, 2006 re: Garbage Collection. Motion No. C061018-10 Moved by Hughes, Seconded by Buttineau Be it resolved that the correspondence dated October 3, 2006 from Doreen Raymer, re: Garbage Collection be received; that Doreen Raymer’s correspondence be forwarded to the County of Simcoe; and further that Doreen Raymer be advised of Council’s decision. Motion No. C061018-16 Moved by Fountain, Seconded by Crawford Be it resolved that a By-law to amend the zoning provisions which apply to lands within Concession 10, West Part of Lot 20, (Oro), 74 Schoolhouse Road, Township of Oro-Medonte, (1533532 Ontario Ltd./Litz Landscaping) be introduced and read a first and second time and numbered By-law No. 2006- 098.
