DRAFT: SIGN BOARD POLICY

The responsibility of maintaining the message board was accepted for the following
reasons:
1. Control over information being displayed.
2. Priority to display Town information
3. Market value of the sign
4. Potential Revenue Source
The Parks and Recreation Department has already implemented a process to maintain
the message board. The Facility Operator from the Town Offices will be responsible for
changing the message board early Monday mornings.
FREQUENCY OF TURNOVER
Messages will be posted on a minimum one week interval.

MESSAGE BOARD PRIORITY
First Priority shall be given to Township of Oro-Medonte information
Second Priority shall be given to not-for-profit community based groups
Third Priority shall be given to not-for-profit county or regional based
groups
Fourth Priority

FEE FOR SERVICE
In an effort to recover costs towards maintenance and upkeep to the sign board, it is
recommended that a rental rate of $10.00 per week be charged to all not-for-profit
groups, agencies, associations, leagues, committees, etc... and that a rental rate of
$75.00 per week be charged to private sector/for-profit groups, agencies, businesses,
etc...

Recreation Improvements/Developments Enacted By Council:
Purpose
To establish guidelines for funding capital park improvements/developments on
Township owned Public Parkland.
Policy
Request for capital park improvements/developments are subjected to approval in a
ratio of 50 percent funding commitment from residents requesting the
improvements; 50 percent from the Recreation Department Capital Projects.

All capital park improvements/developments will be approved by Council and the
funding commitment of Council for such projects may vary at their discretion.

Parks and Funding of Capital Park Enacted By Council:
Recreation Improvements/Developments
Purpose
To establish guidelines for funding capital park improvements/developments on
Township owned Public Parkland.
Policy
Request for capital park improvements/developments are subjected to approval in a
ratio of 50 percent funding commitment from residents requesting the
improvements: 50 percent from the Recreation Department Capital Projects.
The following funding procedures may also be taken into consideration, if
authorized/approved by Council;
100% funding - paid by Council.
0% Funding - paid by residents.
All capital park improvements/developments will be approved by Council and the
funding commitment of Council for such projects may vary at their discretion.
