Deferred. Business Arising/Updates: . Designation and tax relief for area heritage properties - Council will be made aware ofthese options and discuss in the New Year. . Ground radar - deferred. . Kith 'n' Kin - Sheila briefly recounted the events leading to the Association's decisions to reprint the original text, with errata sheets (report circulated). MOTION: That the Association recommend to Council that Kith 'n' Kin be reprinted in its original form, with subsequent errata sheets; AND that Rose Printing be contracted to produce 1,000 copies. MOVED by Bruce, SECONDED by Allan. PASSED. . Plaque wording - deferred. . Parks & Rec brochure - Allan to forward Fair Valley write-up to Sheila. . Georgian College - Geoffhas arranged a presentation ceremony, to have Mayor Neil Craig and Sheila officially present existing Oro-Medonte historical publications to the Georgian College Library. Date set for 17 November at 1 p.m. at the Barrie Campus. . Dwight Norrena update - Mr. Norrena has been notified of the Association policy of charging $10 per photo request, and that the photos in the possession of Loreen Rice- Luca are outside Association jurisdiction. . Fence for Oro African Church - Sheila updated Members about her intention to attend Council regarding this matter on 24 November. Discussion ensued about types of fencing proposed. The possibility of using stone as a fencelbarrier had been discussed at earlier meetings, and there was discussion regarding the possibility of its re-inclusion as an option for Council to consider. MOTION: To revisit the possibility of erecting a stone fence of sufficient size, as a first choice to protect the Church, to act as a barrier against damage from traffic, while not detracting from the character of the site. MOVED by Allan, SECONDED by Bruce. PASSED. .. . ~d- 2 New Business . Second flagpole for Church - this will be retrieved from Geoffs in-laws' home next Spring. . Sheila to ask Township if all photographs for the Medonte book have been returned. . Doors Open Huronia - 4-5 June 2005. Report circulated. Discussion ensued about the possibility of joining this organization. MOTION: That the Association join Doors Open Huronia. MOVED by Geoff. SECONDED by Bruce. PASSED. . Discussion occurred regarding where Black History Month fits into the calendar year. Allan will assemble a PowerPoint presentation for this purpose; Bruce will find out in what month this event is recognized. Next meeting 25 November 2004, 7 p.m. at the Northway restaurant.
