The Township of Oro History Committe. met this evening with the
following members present:
Howard Campbell
Joanna McEwen
Ruth Fraser
Marlene Mawdsley
Wallace Key
Walter Hutchinson
Absent:
Loreen Lucas, Henry Neufeld and Jean Cameron
The meeting was opened at 7:30 p.m. by the Chairman,

Minutes
The minutes of the last regular meeting of the History
Committee held on November 19, 1986 were on motion of Walter
Hutwhinson and Wallace Key adopted as printed and received.

- Howard Campbell reported that we have 88 pictures to date

- Letter from Township or Oro reI $600 in the 1987 Budget for
History Committee for repairs to African Church
- Report on Gas Pipelines in Oro
- Update on Churches
Moved by Ruth Fraser and seconded by Wallace Key that the
Correspondence be received and filed.
Review of Pictures
to be included in Update as selected by Picture Committee and
reviewed for approval by the History Committee at a meeting
held for that purpose on Janua~y 6,1987.

Moved by Walter Hutchinson and seconded by Wallace Key that Henry
Neufeld be in charge of writing a brief on the Township of Ora
Subdivisions.
Howard Campbell reported on condition of African Church - rè~airs
needed. Suggestion made to look into just what is needed.
Walter Hutchinson, Wallace Key and Howard Campbell be responsible
to repair floor of African Church.
Moved by Joanna McEwen 'and seconded by Marlene Mawdsley that Howard
Campbell find out if we have the go ahead from Council. CArried
Discussion on Memorial Service at the African Church - It is thought

Moved by Ruth Fraser and seconded by Marlene Mawðsley that Joanna
McEwen be Editor of the new book. Carried
It was decided that publicity be left for a later meeting.
Joanna McEwen explained to us what she expects in the new book-
maps? pictures?
She will endeavour to have some pages ready for our approval at
next me~ting. .
Next meeting - February 3,1987 at 7:30 p.m.
Discussion on heritage road - should we continue our push this year?
Howard Cappbell will talk to E. Bell and Bob Drury
Joanna McEwen will talk to Ross Whiteside
We reviewed all Districts and re-named ~ersons responsible to
update each.
Moved by Joanna McEwen and seconded by Marlene Mawdsley meeting
adjourn.
