dence & Communications - requiring action of Council Committee of the Whole
(a) Ministry of Transportation and Communications letter of approval for Contract 85-09 - Supply,
Mixing and Stockpiling of Winter Sand tender of Cliff Varcoe Ltd. having been accepted by
Council at a meeting held on october 2, 1985.
(b)
Letter from M.T.C. - approval of Council's acceptance of Contract 85-10 ~ tender for Snow
Removal Equipment 1985/86 Season.

On motion of Drury and Halfacre that as recommended letter of approval from Ministry of Transportation
and Communications for Contract 85-09 and 85-10, be received and filed for necessary reference.
(c)
Letter from M.T.C. re: Subdivision Road Inspection Langman Estates Subdivider Plan M-215 Lot
5, Concession 14 - advising that as the Road has now been constructed to minimum standards
required by the M.T.C. and once assumed by the municipality into the Township Road System by
By-law, for future maintenance and/or construction expenditures on same, the Township will be
properly eligible for subsidy.

COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING - OCTOBER 22, 1985
On motion of Halfacre and Johnson that as recommended letter of approval of road known as "Petherwin
Place" on the Langman Estates Subdivision, Plan M-215 be received and By-law to assume the road be
prepared, once all necessary clearances and documentation have been obtained, and presented to meeting
of Council for consideration and passing of same.
(d)
Letter from Ministry of Agriculture & Food re: The Ontario Drainage Works Erosion Control Program
- announcing funds being made available to municipalities and grant rate formula as well as
schedule of "Eligible Materials and Utilization" attached to the letter.
On motion of Drury and Halfacre that as recommended letter from Ministry of Agriculture and Food with
respect to the Ontario Drainage Works Erosion Control Program be received and filed for necessary
reference when required.

Letter from The Ontario Liquor Licence Board of Ontario (L.L.B.O.) re: Application by Leng's
Restaurant for additional dining lounge facilities - purpose of notice is to enable Council,
if they so desire, to make representation to the Board concerning the application and allow
Municipal Agencies and departments concerned to be advised. ie Health, Building, Planning
Department, Zoning Authorities, etc.
On motion of Halfacre and Johnson that as recommended letter from Ontario Liquor Licence Board be
received and circulated to all applicable departments for information and/or comments.
( f)
Ministry of Tourism and Recreation letter re: Township application for Capital Conservation
Program for the oro Community Arena - File No. 85-42-1516. Letter advises that application
for grant has been reviewed and found complete and eligible for consideration for funding
assistance and further that after September 30, 1985 all grants will be assessed within the
principles, objectives and priorities of the program, according to the availability of funds
from lottery proceeds.
On motion of Drury and Johnson that as recommended letter from Ministry of Tourism & Recreation
with respect to Township application for Capital Conservation Program for the Oro Township
Community Arena be received and filed for necessary reference.

Ontario Association of property Standards Offices Inc. issue of October 1985 - newsletter
including questionnaire and proposed course outline for Municipal Housing Inspection - 1986

On motion of Johnson and Halfacre that as recommended correspondence and communications presented
for information be received and filed.
Road Committee
Gave a verbal report and explained that Road Supt. at this point always brings in a report.

Parks & Recreation - Chairman reported that
- Arena improvements include installation of de-humidifier
- Parks & Recreation Master Plan - Public Meeting this evening.
will make presentation and be available to answer questions.

Student Council's
on Period and Comments on Tour
Question by Deputy Reeve - What comments do you have on the Tour?
Answer
That it is very good but should be more publicized
Question - Why did we have to sit in on County Council meeting so long - very boring.
- discussion for funding for new hospital in Barrie that took place not explained
- suggestion that more information be made available to students about the meeting
some indicated day's tour seemed okay
Question - What about the rest of the Tour?
Should advise students to be appropriately dressed, and have proper shoes for tour at the Landfill Site.
- well organized liked the day
students felt it is a worthwhile program and should be continued
- possible should take in Archives and Museum
Suggestion by Deputy Reeve - students could possibly approach teachers to have more involvement in
visit to Museum and Archives as class program.
Could the Student Council attend future meetings of Council SInce the Student Council will remaIn
as such until the end of the year?
General Comments for Townshi
Involvement
- look at establishing nursing homes and senior citizen homes for Oro
- Recreational program - Baseball & Soccer leagues in the Township
- dead animals not removed along side roads
- Youth Groups do not make known organizational programs
Deputy Reeve and Council expressed their appreciation for the students interest and participation
in the program.
Student Council expressed their appreciation of the opportunity.
Len Cumming, driver of the bus for Sinton Bus Lines, expressed his appreciation to Council for
organizing such a program and his personal appreciation for being part of it.
On motion of Johnson and Drury that meeting adjourn at 3:00 p.m.
