Road Superintendent reviewed the proposed draft budget as previously presented to Council show-
ing total expenditure as follows:

Arena
The Arena Budget is to be reviewed and re-presented for consideration.
Recommendation: Committee of Council recommend that the Clerk-Treasurer to prepare a draft
Budget for 1983 from the proposals presented and reviewed.

Councillor Drury presented a proposed 1983 Budget for the Waste Disposal Site Operation, with
a suggestion that estimated expenditure be proposed for $54,000. with revenue of $1,500.00.
At this point Committee of Council recessed for dinner to reconvene the meeting at 7:15 p.m.

Present from the Lions Club were William O'Brien,L. Mortson , Nick Pollock and Edward Robinson
to present a proposal by the Oro District Lions Club.
Mr. William O'Brien as spokesman, presented a proposal of which a copy was presented for
Summer Sports Facility.
The proposal was on the basis of the Township of Oro acquiring the land for the proposal and
for the purpose of Grant Applications i.e., Federal, Provincial, including Wintario Grants.
The suggested area would be from the property owned by Len Cummings, North of the Oro Township
Community Arena.
Alternative methods of procedures were discussed, such as the Lions Club owning and operating
the proposed Summer Sports Facility and the property being used as an institutionally zoned
parcel.
The facility if pursued in this area, would lend to Improve parking area for the proposed pro-
ject and Oro Township Community Arena.
Possible recommendations for land use and/or exchange of land to allow for such a facility were
discussed, including the benefit of continued facility.
It was the concensus of opinion that the first stage would be to speak to Len Cumming, the owner
of the property in question.
The matter was raised by Council to the Lions Club whether they would consider donation of safety
equipment at Oro Memorial Park for swimming purposes.
Recommendations
Council to investigate the various steps that could be taken with regard to land use and re-
zoning for such a facility and severance possibilities for such purpose. To be considered with
Planning Administrator.
The Lions Club concluded with a note that it is hoped that Oro Council will review and give
serious consideration to such a proposal.

County Board of Education be forwarded to the Township Solicitor for his review and legal opInIon
of the Agreement as written.
The Committee of Council recommend that the Oro Township Arena Committee that the Township will
provide the labour to construct the seating and that the Arena Committee provide the material.
