C~MMITTEE OF COUNCIL MEETING
COUNCIL CHAMBERS - MARCH !7, 1983
Committee of Council met this evening at 7:00 p.m. with the following members present:

Reeve S. Davie in the chair opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m.

Parks & Recreation Committee - Committee organization & Duties of Caretaker

Tender Calls for 1983 Roads Program.
Canada/Ontario Employment Program
Building Permits - while C.B.O. on holidays from March 18th to March 28th inclusive.
Procedural By-Law review.
Budget consideration.
Oro Memorial Park accommodation.

Copies of letters be forwarded to:
Oro Agricultural Society
Oro Horticultural Society
Women's Institutes
Oro Marigold Senior Citizens
Oro Lions
Committee of Council recommend that letters with copy of letter from Provincial Secretary for
Social Development to the aforementioned requesting comments, suggestions and input for the
celebration and request Council be advised in this regard.
Recommendation that the Township By-Law Enforcement Officer to visit the Oro Memorial Park to
enquire from Mr. Robert Barber as to the date he will be leaving and keys available for new
Caretaker.
Road Supt., Fred Haughton was present to review with Council the 1983 Road Program which was pre-
sented to each member of Committee of Council.
Committee of Council recommend that the 1983 Road Program as presented be accepted as the Road
Budget for the Township of Oro for 1983.
The matter of Canada Day Celebration was discussed after Councillor Halfacre reported on meeting
held at Oro Station Community Hall.
It was recommended that John Vokes and Len Cumming be requested to attend the next Committee of
Council meeting to be held on Wednesday, March 30, 1983.

Some time was spent discussing the setting up of a Parks & Recreation Committee to come into being,
in early fall.
Also discussed was the matter of looking into retaining a firm of Engineers for varlOUS work within
the Township. Various firms were suggested for consideration.
