07 05 1984 Fire Officer's Mtg 8 8 e COUNCIL CHAMBERS - JULY 5, 1984 FIRE OFFICER'S MEETING The meetin9 was called to order by the Chairman of the Fire Committee at 7:10 p.m. Officers Present: Fire Chief Ron Young Deputy Fire Chief - Paul Eenhoorn Shanty Bay - Carl Walton Hawkestone - Tim Jermey, Yeb Jermey, Brian Hart Rugby - George Anderson, George Scott Edgar - George Bidwell, Brian Pratt Oro Council: Reeve S. Davie Deputy Reeve J. McEwen Councillors: T. Halfacre & R. Drury Chairman welcomed all present and expressed appreciation. How many vehicles - for practice purposes - 1 at Rugby. Presently 5 at Waste Disposal Site. At present, two vehicles at Hawkestone Fire Hall - owned by John Corlett. How many monitors taken for repairs - 3 so far, and these have been taken back twice. It was agreed by all present, that the Fire Meeting should start at 7:30 p.m. instead of 7:00 p.m. Monitors do not seem to have good reception north of Hawkestone and Rugby. Appears that the range of hills has a bearing. Should contact manufacturer of monitors regarding the problem. It has been indicated that Orillia Township will also be applying for same frequency. Paging system was discussed - it is hoped that all bugs will be ironed out before this. Pr£sently one tone for whole system, not separate for each station. Deputy Chief Report Working along on drills and practices with the Fire Departments - seem to be progressing in this regard. Edgar Tanker - a lot of problems and repalrs. Rugby Truck Compartment now completed and painted. Paul Eenhoorn also mentioned problem at Fuda's. Chairman asked for names of participants at the Water Ball Event by the Fire Departments. Comments or s stions Shanty Bay - Any problems or suggestions. in Concession 4. No acknowledgement from Ratepayers in the area of Fire Suggested that maybe Associations should be asked to encourage Ratepayers to acknowedge apprecia- tion of activities of Fire Department.
