- all children through schools should know fire number.

.
Interested people from each station would attend such a tour.
Suggestion was made that Chief and Deputy Chief should first make the trip as to
whether the system is that much different.

BI-ANNUAL FIRE OFFICER'S MEETING - TOWN HALL - NOVEMBER 27, 1984
Suggestion was made of a $50-$60 per hour rate - vehicle and men with the vehicle.
If a call for fire at such event required more equipment and men - additional charges
should be applied.
It was left that a rate of $50.00 be a proposed rate. Suggest three men should be
at the site at anyone time at the rate of $15.00 per per man plus truck rate. This
was agreed to by all.
di ions of Vehicles at Each Station
- One item still required for transmission on tanker at No.3 Station
part still to corne.
Speedometer
Any comments
separate tones for Rugby
Ron Young - questions-should each Station have a separate tone.
Reeve related about the meeting with R. McAllister regarding dispatch system. At
time when negotiations were looked at with City of Barrie. Appears to be a sophisticated
system.
.
Calls to be monitored when system provided - dispatcher places call to appropriate
station.
City of Barrie advised that should the City have a major fire, the Subscribing Township,
ie. Township of Oro would not be subject to priority dispatch.
In ordering monitors now - separate tones could be made available at the same price.
If tone is not wanted
could leave monitor open and still get all tones.
Still need about 23 more pagers at present.
George Bidwell - If we are one Dept. should not have separate tones.
Ron Young - Should Rugby be given separate tone - other stations should have the
privilege of getting separate tones.
George Anderson - With other tones, Rugby find that tone comes in but message not
clear - becomes a situation were men may not be content because
Rugby Dept. is adament that they want separate tones.
Reeve Davie
Suggest set up a meeting with all District Chiefs and Chief & Deputy
Chief with Van Am to bring up all the concerns of each Dept. These
problems should be answered by electronic specialists - Motorola and
Van Am and main concern appears to be insufficient power.
.
- Appears Rugby and Hawkestone have poor reception due to tower too low
over the Ridge of Hills.
- Also to include Captains of each Station for the meeting.

BI-ANNUAL FIRE OFFICER'S MEETING
TOWN HALL - NOVEMBER
Tim Jermey/Hawkestone #2 Stn. - no particular concerns
- radio communication not what was expected
possibly the tower is not in proper location
Chairman
commented on this matter
Councillor Drury - also commented that Engineer had recommended this area
Fire Chief - tower is rented from Van Am
- should it not work satisfactory
to overcome some problems
may have to look at a Township tower
Tim Jermey - whatever should be done - be looked at and acted on.
Other Concern
promised a 5% raise - this year does not indicate a 10% raIse over
two years.
Ron- Fire Chief - This year is 5% over last year - last year was lower.
1984 - $7.26 per hour rate, 2 years ago $7.04 per hour rate
It was suggested that a formula should be established rather than 5% on Gross Amount.
.
George Anderson #4 Stn.
Concern about monitors - separate tone
George Bidwell

to the Dept. in that year.
