COUNCIL CHAMBERS - JANUARY 22,1981
Oro Council met as a Committee of Council at 7:00 p.m. this evening
to consider matters pertaining to Roads and proposals for work in 1981.
All members of Council present along with Road Superintendent.
Road Supt. presented an Agenda for discussion as follows:

15/16 Sideroad - alignment and property
The first item to be considered was the matter of fuel and pumps at
Township Machine Shed. The Road Supt. presented quotations received
from three fuel suppliers.
Recommendations that contract from BP Canada be reviewed and contents of
same summarized and presented to next meeting of Council.
Recommended that Road Supt. prepare draft of tender specifications for a
6 ton truck with snow plow equipment for presentation to Road Committee
and subsequently to a meeting of Council.
The next item discussed as the matter of a 15 ton trailer to transport
the backhoe/loader - suggestion to look into used trailers before further
consideration.
Survey equipment and office supplies - Road Supt. to obtain prices on such
equipment and present same at a future meeting.
Battery Charger - Road Supt. to obtain prices.
Road Supt. presented survey of 15/16 Side Road east from Line 3 to Line 7 and
in particular discussed the curve in Concession 4, where he recommended
changes to the curve by constructing a new road south of the present one,
which would have to be purchased from Willougby and Baxter, Fotherby and
Atkinson.
The next major problem being in Concession 6 at the L. McCuaig property where once
again property has to be purchased.
It was recommended that the Road. Supt. approach the property owners in
question and report back to Road Committee for recommendation to Council.

PARK COMMITTEE
The Council met as Committee of Council at 8:00 p.m. to consider matters
under parks following the Road Committee meeting.
Councillor Halfacre presented several matters to be considered at Ora
Memorial Park:
(a) moving stove from booth to pavillion;
(b) equipment replacement or removal of some of the unfit
quipment requested by Park Caretaker;
(c) some renovation in the residential portion of the booth.
Also discussed was the matter of grass cutting.
The matter of park lots on Plan 1488 was presented for discussion and it was
left that no action be taken until after Council visits the site.
It is recommended the donation from C.O.R.A., Simcoe Side Ratepayers and
others be applied to a spring horse for children at the Oro Memorial Park.

FIRE AND BUILDING COMMITTEE
Building Committee had no matters to present until draft budget proposals
are received from the Fire Chief.
The matter of fire calls on Highways was discussed by Council.
OTHER ITEMS DISCUSSED:
DOG CONTROL
The matter of dog licences was considered by Council and it was recommended
that the local stores be authorized to sell dog licences until April 15, 1981:
Shanty Bay
Oro Station
Hawkestone
Banbury Food Market
Edgar
Coulson
and that the remuneration be .75~ per tag sold and that the Township By-law
be amended to extend last date for tags without penalty be April 15,1981.
Notice of same is to be inserted with the interim tax bills.
