02 12 1981 COW Minutes . . . ~ COUNCIL CHAMBERS - FEBRUARY 12, 1981 ------------ COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL MEETING Council met as a Committee of Council at 7:05 p.m. with all members present. PARKS COMMITTEE A draft letter to Mr. H. Christian was presented as had been requested by Mr. Christian at a meeting with Council members and the Clerk at the Royal York Hotel, as arranged with respect to Oro Memorial Park and alternatives to an "approved Park" under the Parks Assistance Act. It was recommended that the letter as presented and revised be forwarded, in order to receive procedures and/or requirements in writing. Rates for Memorial Park - entrance fee for non-residents was discussed. Suggestions - weekdays $2.00 per car & driver and $1.00 per person $5.00 per car & driver and $2.00 per person weekends The matter of setting admission fees was left over for further consideration. Park Chairman requested an inventory shown on Township map of all Park lands in the Township. . . . FI RE COMMITTEE --- Councillor Arbour, Chairman Fire Committee advised that he had met with Fire Chief this morning to go over the proposed budget for 1981, as prepared by the Fire Chief. Fire Chief, Ron Young was present as requested and presented the draft budget by going over each item with the Committee of Council. A number of suggestions were made and amendments, deletions and some cuts proposed. The generator for Station #1 and 1 hand set from Station #2 and 1 air pack from Station #4 be removed and purchased as extra equipment to be placed in the Fire Chief's van where it would be available for any fire attended by the Chief, since the Fire Chief attends all major fires. The new hose included in proposed budget was to be split between No.1 Station - Shanty Bay and No.4 Station - Rugby. It was recommended that the budget as presented be submitted to Council for approval with changes as noted by removing one generator from No.1 Station ($700.00) and one air pack from No.2 Station ($700.00) one hand set, one air pack to be used in Fire Chief's van. And item 7 to be changed to read $1710.00 for 3 fans and each of the 3 stations. The total budget be decreased by $3,370.00 for a total proposed budget of $96,359.00. Ron Young presented a letter from District Chief for No.3 Station requesting a meeting with the Fire Chief and Fire Committee. It was suggested that District Chief and some of his officers be requested to attend a Committee Meeting on February 26, 1981 at 7:00 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
