03 12 1981 COW Minutes . . . COUNCIL CHAMBERS - MARCH 12, 1981 SPECIAL COMMITTEE MEETING Council met as a Committee of Council for the first Committee meeting for the month of March. Present were - Councillors Halfacre, Arbour and Vousden Reeve McLean absent due to committment previously arranged. Deputy Reeve Davie absent because of father's funeral. Councillor Arbour was appointed Chairman for the Committee of Council meeting. ROAD COMrUTTEE Road Supt. Fred Haughton was present to discuss with Council the matter of calling tenders for the various items of Road Program for 1981. The tenders as prepared were reviewed by the Committee as follows. Committee of Council recommended that tenders be called as presented except for the non-asphaltic oil for which quotations should be asked from previous and present suppliers of same. The next matter for consideration was the quotation from Keith Maxwell for road side grass cutting as well as Township lots. The quotation was by the hour ~12.00) or contract of $1,900.00 for all the grass cutting on road side and Township lots in 1981. COMMITTEE MEETING (Cont1d) MARCH 12, 1981 . As previously arranged 6 applicants selected from the 18 interviewed on March 4th by the Clerk and Administrative Staff, appeared before Council. A tdtal of 40 application having been received. Fair Typist - no full time experience - unable to find employment in office work - part time employment in other fields - could start immediately - capable and willing to work After consideration Committee of Council recommend to Council that the application of Linda Wismer be accepted and that she commence work immediately should the Committee1s recommendation be accepted. Miss Wendy Proulx was present before Committee of Council at 8:45 p.m. to present a proposed programme for a Day Camp at Oro Memorial Park. She previously discussed the programme with members of the Park Committee as we 11 as other members of Counci 1 . The proposed programme coul d employ 5 Councillors, 2 Lifeguards and Councillors in Training (C.I.T.). The programme would be carried out in July and August, with a one week training period during the last two days of June and first few days of July. The Day Camp to be through the week, Monday to Friday. Programme would consist of swimming, games, outdoor activities, special events, singing, arts and crafts. . . . . COMMITTEE MEETING (Cont'd) MARCH 12, 1981 Committee of Council after discussion and consideration made the following recommendation. That Committee of Council recommend to Council that the proposed Day Camp Programme be sponsored by the Township of Oro under the direction of Wendy Proulx as Programme Director and be presented to Oro Council for discussion and consideration at a meeting to be held on Monday, March 16th, 1981.
