05 14 1981 COW Minutes . . . .. COUNCIL CHAMBERS - MAY 14, 1981 COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL MEETING All members present. Reeve R.S. Arbour - opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. ROAD COMMITTEE Road Supt. presented notice of Weed Seminar with respect to weed spraying to be held on May 22nd, 1981. Letter from Adult Occupational Center requesting permission to erect directional signs. Shanty Bay Walk-Way cost estimated at approximately $2800.00 and reported on status of same. Need for new tires for No. 22 Champion Power Grader. Recommendation of Road Committee and Road Supt. the six new tires be purchased for #22 Champion Grader. Presented registered drawing 51R-10263 showing land to be purchased from Mr. Beal for improvement to 15/16 Side Road at E~ Lot 15, Concession 6. The Road Supt. again bro~ght up the matter of the drainage ditch at Ivan Clark's property and advised of the approximate cost for grade all work which Mr. I. Clark has now decided to pay for himself. The Township will assist where possible in opening of water course entrance. The matter of consideration of and looking into costs of a chipper which could be jointly used by Waste Disposal Site and Roads Department was discussed. PARK COMMITTEE Park Chairman reported on matter of park admission for local picnics and reunions in view of rates set for 1981. Mr. R. Holmes, Park Supervisor was present at request of Park Committee at this time. Mrs. Loree.n Lucas was present in this regard and expressed concern with respect to admission for children and parents adjoining Municipality who have children attending and swllimmlling lessons. She was advised that no charge would be for children attending the swimming classes nor to parents them. her from made bringing The next item was the matter of family picnics on weekends and charges for same. Mrs. Lucas was advised that because of the time of booking of the picnic a flat rate for this family picnic only would be charged. She was also advised that no picnics are to be booked for Saturdays, Sundays or Holidays unless the normal admission for weekends is paid by all non residents. . . . COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL (Cont'd) MAY 14, 1981 Mr. Holmes advised that the repairs to the pa¥illion are proceeding, although delayed by weather. The matter of future rebuilding or moving of the large pavillion was discussed. Also the fence at the Lake on the west side. It was left that the fence replacement be referred to Road Supt. for repair. The erection of the new admission and regulations sign was also discussed. ARENA COMMITTEE The matter of the NorfolLk Studio Productions holding a recording session at the Oro Township Community Arena was presented to Committee of Council. The Clerk reported the actions taken under By-law No. 992 and presented letters and certified cheque for licence fee. AK~o that Mr~ Frank Lepschi will be present at the next regular meeting of Council on Wednesday, May 20, 1981, The matter of Bass Lake Ratepayers Association requesting a member of Council to attend their Spring Meeting was considered. Reeve Arbour requested that Councillor Johnsbnattend the meeting on June 6th, 1981 at 10:00 a.m. Clerk to advise the Secretary of Councillor that will be attending. DOG CONTROL Councillor Vousden reported on this matter with respect to persons to sell dog licences on door to door basis. Clerk advised that he had approached some of the people who had sold them last year and that only Mr. Morris Douglas had offered his services. The Reeve brought the matter of commercial building plans requiring Fire Chief approval which were not being completed in an adequate time limit. Adjourned at 9:50 p.m.
