02 11 1982 COW Minutes . COUNCIL CHAMBERS - FEBRUARY 11, 1982 COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL MEETING Council met this evening as Committee of Council at 7:30 p.m. with all members present. Reeve R.S. Arbour in the Chair opened the meeting and matters considered were: PARKS Councillor Halfacre - Chairman of Parks, advised Council that Mr. Barbour was prepared to assume the position as Superintendent and Caretaker for Oro Memorial Park for 1982. Committee of Council after consideration recommended that Mr. R.E. (Bob) Barbour be retain~d as the Superintendent and Caretaker of Oro Memorial Park for 198Z at a rate of $250.00 per week from April 1st to September 30th and that he be authorized to move into the premises at any time to prepare the living quarters for occupancy at an earlier date. . The matter of preparing the Fire Budget for 1982 was discussed and it was left that the Chairman of Fire and Building Committee , Councillor Johnson, to meet with the Fire Chief to prepare a Fire Budget. The matter of Tanker Truck for Edgar Station was also discussed. A delegation with respect to Lakeshore Road appeared before Committee of Council at 8:20 p.m. Present were Mrs. Carol Harden; Mrs. Fenton and Mr. Herb Harden. The first matter brought to attention of Committee of Council was the parking of vehicles along the Lakeshore Road and County Road 27, mainly by fishermen. The parked cars tend to interfere with traffic on the Road as well as Snow Removal and of more concern, no room for a fire truck to get through. . The next item was the matter of reconstruction of the Lakeshore Road through Concession 7, the delegation enquired as to what was the proposal for further work on this road. It was suggested that the reconstruction of the entire road may be necessary. Resurfacing, as has been previously done, would be more economical and the reconstruction of the Bridge west of line seven should be a priority. Mrs. Harden also mentioned that all the people involved should be advised prior to commencement of construction before same takes place. It would appear that more people in the area do not want a major reconstruction, only a reconstruction of the road not extremely wide ditches. Pg. 2 - COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL MEETING - FEBRUARY 11, 1982 . It was suggested that a public meeting could be called to present the proposal for the reconstruction and that the presentation be made by the township Road superintendent and/or Road Committee. Notification of such presentation could be arranged for. Councillor Vousden mentioned matters concerning the Oro Township Arena Committee and advised that the Arena Committee have author- ized payment of the Insurance for the Arena from January to May, 1982. Also that the Arena Committee would like to be advised whether the Township propose to tender Insurance for 1982.
