COMMITTEE OF COUNCIL MEETING
Committee of Council met this evening at 7:35 p.m.

Reeve Arbour opened the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
Prior to the meeting Council were given an opportunity to see the Rescue Van,
which the Fire Chief had brought down for Council to view.
1) Fire Chief Ronald Young was present at 7:35 p.m. as requested by Council
with respect to a number of unfinished items as outlined by Fire Committee.
Councillor Johnson presented 7 items, of which every member had received a
copy.
7 questions to be answere were as follows:
Edgar Water Truck: Should be finished by this weekend as far as body work
and painting.
Jim Langman's Gold Watch: Delivered to Webb JewelleJ::.SJune 28th.
Shanty Bay Fire Hall (Inside & Outside):
Shanty Bay Water Truck:
Cleaned up inside, outside should
be cleaned up this weekend.
Three doors to be finished and painting of tank (all
but painting should be finished next week) Propose
to have painting d~ne by middle of July. Do not want
to take truck out of service until Edgar Truck is
finished.
Rugby Fire Truck:
Design work and have same done by Welding Shop, e.g. Barrie
Welding.
Insulation at Rugby and Hawkestone Fire Halls:
Rugby scheduled in next month.
Radios:
Crystals ordered approximately 3 weeks ago - Total 27 radios.
Ron Young presented application form for reimbursement of Rescue Van under
the Provincial Auto Extriction Grant Program.
Committee of Council recommend that Provincial Auto Extriction Grant Program
Application for Basic Kit to be completed and forwarded to Chief, Fire Advi-
sory Services, Office of the Fire Marshall, 590 Keele St., Toronto, Ontario
M6N 4X2.
Ron Young advised of demonstration by Wilson & Cousins of Rescue equipment
which is to take place in late July or early August - Fire Chief to advise
of date.
Edgar Fire Truck to be delivered as special occasion by Fire Committee and
Council.

By-Law Enforcement Officer
Clerk advised that a letter had been forwarded to Mr. William Ormerod advising
that his application had been accepted subject to his acceptance of Council
remuneration and presented a reply of acceptance by Mr. Ormerod.
It was recommended by Committee of Council that a letter be forwarded to all
applicants advising of Council's action and Mr. Ormerod's acceptance and ex-
pressing Council's appreciation for their application and interest.

Township of Oro vs Racca
Solicitor's letter advising that Mr. Racco's appeal had been granted on basis
of Mr. Racco having had chickens on the property since 1973 and has continued
to keep them until the present, and that all complaints had been received
from 1978 on. Also presented his account for same in the amount of $ 300.00.
Recommended that account be added to accounts list for June 1982. And, Mr.
William Leslie be advised that the matter of building code offence be with-
drawn.

Replacement of underground fuel tank - Township Office
Committee of Council recommend that the Energy Consultant from Ontario be
requested to evaluate the Heating System in the Township Office Building as
soon as possible and matter be left in the hands of the Deputy Reeve Davie.
5)
Job Classification and Levels for employees and By-Law for same.
The revised documents and information as a result of the last Committee meet-
ing was presented for review and consideration. After much discussion the
following recommendation was made.
Committee of Council recommend that a By-Law to establish Classification of
Officers, Employees and Servants of the Township of Oro and a By-Law to estab-
lish Salary Levels and Ranges of Administrative and Hourly position of the
Township of Ora be prepared and presented at the next regular meeting.

1982 Ontario Employment Incentive Program - application
Manpower to be advised of number of persons required for the projects under
the application.
7)

Park Study Committee Interim Report
Park Study Committee be contacted as to whom cost of meetings held are to
be forwarded.
8)
Other matters of Complaints from Ratepayers
To be further considered with Road Superintendent.

Other matters to be considered - Committee Chairman presentation:
Park Committee to look after having the two water fountains installed at Oro
Memorial Park.
