1982-004 Medonte BY-LAW 82-4 BEING A BY-LAW to prohibit the running at large of dogs within the Township of Medonte. WHEREAS the Township is empowered under the Dog Licencing and Livestock and Poultry Protection Act, Chapter 123, R.S.O. 1980 to regulate or prohibit the running at large ofl dogs in the Municipality AND WHEREAS Council is desirous to enact such a By~Law NOW THEREFORE, Council of the Township of Medonte hereby enacts as follows: 1) Dogs are prohibited from running at large within the Township of Medonte. 2) For the purpose of section 1 of this By~Law a dog shall be deemed to be running at large when found in any place other than the premises of the owner of the dog and not under control of any person. 3) Any dog found running at large where live stock and poultry are kept may be killed. 4) Any dog found running at large anywhere within the boundaries of the Township may be impounded. 5) The fee for retrieving a dog from the pound shall be $25.00 for the first offence, and $50.00 for t he second offence and any subsequent offence plus any. fees as may be charged by the Poundkeeper for care of the animal. 6) Every owner who allows their dog to run at large contrary to this By-Law is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine of not more than $50.00. 7) Voluntary payment of penalties may be made out of Court at the Township Office but if payment is not made the fine is recoverable under the Provincial Offences Act. 8) That By-Law 1254 is hereby repealed.
