MINUTES OF THE FIRST MEETING OF THE ORO-MEDONTE PLANNING ADVISORY
COHHITTEE
MEETING HELD THURSDAY FEBRUARY 10. 1994. @ 7:00 P.M. - COMMITTEE ROOM
Present:
Mayor Robert Drury, Councillor Alastair

Mayor Drury called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m.
1. Election of a Chairperson
Moved by Joanne Crokam
That Alastair Crawford be nominated as Chairman.
Moved by David Caldwell, Seconded by Walter Dickie
That nominations by closed.
Carried.
Councillor Alastair Crawford accepted the position and the newly
elected Chairman took the Chair.
Moved by David Caldwell
That Norman Dalziel be nominated as Vice-Chairman.
Declined.
Moved by Robert Drury
That Donald Bell be nominated as Vice-Chairman.
Moved by Joanne Crokam, seconded by Walter Dickie
That nominations be closed.
Mr. Donald Bell accepted the position.

THAT the minutes of the meeting of the Township of Oro Planning
Advisory Committee held November 18, 1993, be adopted as circulated.
Carried. .
5. CORRESPONDENCE AND COMMUNICATIONS:
None
There was some discussion regarding "In Camera" Sessions.
Moved by Deputy Reeve Norman Dalziel,
Seconded by Reeve David Caldwell
That all meetings of the Oro-Medonte Planning Advisory committee be
open meetings unless required by The Municipal Act or alternately
would be considered upon request by the applicant.
Carried.

6. DELEGATIONS
(a) 7:15 p.m.
P-3/93 Ganaraska-Oro Estates Limited
Part Lot 1, Concession 5
Horseshoe Valley (Oro)
Mr. David Slade and Mr. Rex Meadley, agents appeared before the
Planning Advisory Committee to review the application for an
Official Plan Amendment to redesignate Part of Lot 1, Concession
5 from the Rural designation to the Estate Residential
designation to permit the development of a 14 lot Estate
Residential plan of subdivision.
Mr. Slade, Agent, discussed what the applicants are proposing to
do with the property.
There was general discussion by the Planning Advisory Committee
members regarding the Estate Residential limits under OPA 48 and
restrictions of further proposed development under the Corridor
Study.

8:00 p.m. Pearl and Norman Guthrie,
Part Block X, Plan 902, Concession 10 (Oro)

Mr. and Mrs. Guthrie appeared before the Planning Advisory
Committee to review the application for a zoning By-law Amendment
to rezone Part Block X, Plan 902, Concession 10 from the General
Residential (RG) zone to a General Residential Exception zone to
permit the development of a Bed and Breakfast establishment in
the existing dwelling.

There was general discussion by the Planning Advisory Committee
members regarding fire safety, parking, use of the boat launch
facility and use of the boat launch parking.

OTHER BUSINESS
None.
8. RECOHHENDATIONS
Moved by Reeve David Caldwell, and
Seconded by Mayor Robert Drury
It is recommended to Council in regards to P-3/94 Ganaraska-Oro
Estates Limited, Part Lot 1, Concession 5, Horseshoe Valley (Oro),
application for an Official Plan Amendment, that this proposal is
premature and should not proceed to a Public Meeting at this time as
it does not conform to the Corridor portion of the policies of OPA 39.
Carried.
Moved by Mayor Robert Drury, and
Seconded by Councillor Len Mortson
It is recommended to Council in regards to Development Application P-
4/94 Pearl and Norman Guthrie, Part Block X, Plan 902, Concession 10
(Oro) for a Zoning By-law Amendment that this proposal proceed to a
pub~ic meeting as soon as possible.
Carried.
