EIGHTH MEETING 1985-88 COUNCIL
Oro Council met this evening pursua.'1t to adjournment at 9: 00 a.m.
with the following members present:

Reeve Drury chaired the meeting.

E.J. McNamara, Dick MacCarl, David White and four members of the press.
Reeve Drury opened the meeting with prayer.

Consumers Gas made a presentation re: an Energy Board
Hearing on April 21, 1986. Township Solicitor David White
was also present.

Be it resolved that the Township of Oro would be willing to attend
at a meeting of municipalities in North Simcoe with regards to a task
force to address the need for uniform by-laws and enforcernent procedures
re: low income housing, and further the Township reserves judgement
on joining such a task force until Council has received rrore information
on the subject. Carried.

Be it resolved that Council concur with the reccrnmendation of the
Parks and Recreation Comnittee to grant $200.00 to the Craighurst
Corrrnunity Hall and Park Comnittee and further that before the Township
of Ora Parks and Recreation Committee would consider a future grant,
evidence of an approved and Ministry funded Master Recreation Study as
well as proof the hall had been retro-fitted for all relevant fire
regulations for use as a Community and Public Hall. Carried.

Be it resolved that Council concur with the recommendation of the Parks
and Recreation Comnittee that the Guthrie Community Hall be closed pending
a report on its disposition from the consulting firm of I.E.R. and the
Fire Chief, and the Arena M~ager is directed to re-arrange or cancel
all bookings of the Hall with the understanding that any group that incurrs
expenses in re-locating is to be re-imbursed by the Township up to
$100.00 and further the Arena Manager is to report back to the Comnittee
and Council on any problems he encounters in re-arranging the Hall
bookings. Carried.

Administrator/Clerk represent the municipality at the hearing. Carried.

Be it resolved that representatives from the Township of Rarna and
the Township of Orillia attend the Committee of the Whole Meeting
on April 23, 1986 to discuss library services. Carried.

Be it resolved that Oro Horticultural Society not be given permission
to use the Township Garage on May 21, 1986 as there are other facilities
in the Township such as the Town Hall or the Township Arena at the sane
price as they paid for the Guthrie Hall. Carried.

Be it resolved that a By-law to confirm the proceedings of the
Meeting of Council held on April 2, 1986 be introduced and read a
first and second time and numbered 86-23. Carried.
That By-law No. 86-23 be considered read a third time, finally passed,
be engrossed by the Clerk, signed and sealed by the Reeve. Carried.
