H. Blatchford, Barb Blatchford, Heward Campbell, Frank Hutchison, Gail Taylor, Mr. & Mrs. D. Barnett, and one member of the press. Deputations 7:00 p.m. Mrs. Andrea McKay and Mrs. Dodee Walsh spoke to Council on the contents of a petition dated July 1986 concerning the cleanliness of Oro Memorial Park which was previously presented to Council on August 5,1986. 9:00 p.m. Howard Campbell and Frank Hutchison of the Canada Day Carmi ttee spoke to Council in regards to future Tcwnship recognition and support of the Canada Day Cornni t tee. Note: Reeve Drury left the meeting at 7:35 p.m. to attend a Minor Hockey Meeting and turned the chair over to Deputy Reeve Halfacre. Reeve Drury returned at 9:00 p.m. 3. The follewing correspondence and items for discussion were presented: ( a) (b) (c) ( d) Ministry of Tourism & Recreation re: recreation grant B.!. and 1. re: Coil Water Storage Heater - Oro Arena Orillia Public Library re: various reports frail July 1986 Derek Barnett re: petition on the cleanliness of Oro Memorial Park Reeve Drury reported to the Cornnittee that he attended a meeting of Minor Hockey this evening at which Minor Hockey requested the Reeve to request of Council a $5.00/hour rate increase for all out of tcwn teams to be turned over to Minor Sports. Motion No.1 Moved by Burton, seconded by SWerdon It is recommended that the Administrator write CKVR to request a hockey game between the Township of Oro and the CKVR No Stars with the proceeds to go towards the egos aver. Carried. Motion No.2 Moved by SWerdon, seconded by Burton It is recommended that the Tcwnship of Oro endorse Private Property Week frail October 5th - 13th, 1986. Carried Motion No.3 Moved by Burton, seconded by Swerdon It is recanmended that the Report frail the County of Simcoe Property Protection Reforestration Services Committee be referred to the Administrator/Clerk and Fire Chief and further they convey the results of this survey to the Fire Chief for the City of Barrie. Carried. Motion No.4 Moved by Burton, seconded by SWerdon It is recanmended that Council agree with the comments of the Road Superintendent with regards to the request of the Oro Agricultural Society re: the use of the Township garage and trailer for the Oro Fair. Carried. Motion No.5 Moved by Burton, seconded by SWerdon It is recommended that the letter from the Hawkestone Police Village Trustees in regards to roads and signs be referred to the Road Superintendent for a report back to Council. Carried. Motion No.6 Moved by Burton, seconded by Swerdon It is recœrnended that the quotation frail M.R. Truax re: a special pick-up and items to be included in the pick-up be approved and further that the special pick-up shall take place on October 23,24 and 25th. Carried. Motion No.7 Moved by Caldwell, seconded by Burton It is recœmended that the Terms of Reference for a study to be done on Lake Simcoe and Couchiching, Trent Severn Waterway be received and further the Clerk advise Environment Canada - Parks that the Township of Oro would like to be kept informed on the results of this study and further the Township of Oro be included on the list, that the whole rule CUrve Study be considered and that an unbiased study be done to consider both the positive and negative effect of changes. White for a reply. Carried. Motion No.9 Moved by Caldwell, seconded by Burton It is recœmended that the Chief Building Official Jim Shellswell be allcwed to attend "The Inspector and the House" course to be held in Huntsville on the following dates: November 3 - 7 and November 7 - 21, at a cost of $350.00 to the Township, plus meals and travelling expenses. Carried. Motion No. 10 Moved by Burton, seconded by Swerdon It is recœmended that the Carrnittee adjourn "in-camera" with the By-law Enforcement Officer at 9:26 p.m. Carried. Motion No. II Moved by Caldwell, seconded by Halfacre It is recœmended that the Carrnittee rise and report frail "in-camera" at 10:07 p.m. Carried. Motion No. 12 Moved by Swerdon, seconded by Burton It is recœmended that the By-law Enforcement Officer William Ormerod proceed to lay charges against the Barrie Automotive Flea Market held September 5, 6 and 7th, 1986 as they were in contravention of By-law No. 1031.
