THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO
PUBLIC MEETING
OLD TOWN HALL
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 1986 - 8:00 P.M.

Reeve Drury opened the meeting at 8:00 p.m. by explaining to those
present that the purpose of the meeting was to present information
concerning a survey being conducted on an Assisted Housing Project
for senior citizens and families. The Reeve then turned the meeting
over to Karen Kidd, Housing Analyst, Ministry of Housing, to explain
the purpose of the survey and review the questionnaires which had
previously been mailed out.
Various questions and inquiries were made as follows:

Are the figures used based on taxable income?
Will there be modified units for the handicapped?
Will there be home-care provided?
How is the exterio r maintenance handled - tendered?
Are family and senior units in the same complex?
To what extent can the handicapped or disabled be accommodated?
Are there facilities already built with similar characteristics as
the Township of Oro - basically rural with hamlet areas?
Is there yearly re-assessments done of rent-geared-to-income?
Are citizens from within the Municipality the only ones permitted
to rent?
Who takes ownership of the Corporation?
By whom is the tenant selection criteria set?
What is the minimum number of units in a complex?
If a complex is built, is it tendered out or can volunteers be
contracted?
To what extent does the Municipality get involved?
