SPECIAL PUBLIC
MEETING
SEVENTY-FIFTH MEETING 1985-88 COUNCIL
The following members of Council were present:
Deputy Reeve Thelma Halfacre
Councillor David Burton
Councillor Robert Swerdon
Absent:
Reeve Robert E. Drury, Councillor David Caldwell
Deputy Reeve Thelma Halfacre chaired the meeting.
Also present were:
Ms. Holly Spacek, Mr. Ron Watkin, Mr. Tony Mascioli,
Mr. V. Racco, Mrs. I. Dunlop, Mr. J. Schnurr and
Mr. G. Kenny
Deputy Reeve Thelma Halfacre opened the meeting by explaining to those
present that the purpose of the public meeting was to introduce a
proposed Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment under
Section 21 and 34 of the Planning Act. The proposed Official Plan
Amendment proposes to redesignate those lands situated in part of the
western half of Lots D and E, Concession 1, E.P.R., from the
Agricultural "A" designation to the "Industrial" designation. The
amendment would also affect the text of the plan with minor modification
of the text as it pertains to "Industrial" land uses. The proposed
zoning by-law amendment would rezone the aforementioned lands from
the Agricultural (A) Zone to the General Residential (M1)Zone. The
purpose of these amendments is to permit the development of the subject
lands as a Farmers Market and Auction Sales Barn.
Also persons present will be afforded the opportunity of asking questions
with respect to the proposed Official Plan and Rezoning amendments.
The Deputy Reeve then turned the meeting over to Mr. Paul Kitchen who
explained the purpose and affect of the proposed amendments.
The Deputy Reeve then asked the Clerk if there had been any correspondence
received on this matter. The Clerk responded by indicating that he
had received a letter from Mr. K. Ainsworth of the Ministry of
Transportation and Communications indicating they had no concerns with
regards to the proposed development.
The Deputy Reeve then opened the meeting for questions from those
present.

There was a question concerning whether or not the proposed
development intended to have an entrance off No. 10 Sideroad;
Mr. Kitchen responded that the entrance would not be off
No. 10 Sideroad.

A question was asked as to the number of car parking spaces that
would be provided;
Mr. Kitchen indicated that there would be ample spaces provided
for either a Farmers Market or Auction Sale.
Notice of the public meeting was circulated to the area affected and to
all land owners within 120 metres of the area affected on August 12, 1987
in accordance with Ontario Regulations. In addition, notices were sent
to Agencies considered to have an interest in the matter.
The Deputy Reeve then closed the meeting thanking all those in attendance
for their participation and advised them that Council will consider all
matters brought before them prior to reaching a decision and indicating
that any person who wishes to be T)tified of the passing of the proposed
by-law that they were to leave their name and address with the Clerk.
