Reeve Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those present that the
purpose of the Public Meeting was to introduce a proposed Official Plan
Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment under Sections 21 and 34 of the
Planning Act.
The proposed Official Plan Amendment would redesignate those lands located
in the north western corner of Lot 21, Concession 12, from the "Agricultural"
designation to the "Commercial" designation. The proposed zoning by-law
amendment would rezone the aforementioned lands from Agricultural (AI)
zone to the General Commercial (Cl) zone. The purpose of these amendments
is to permit the development of a retail plumbing, heating and electrical
supply facility on the subject lands.
Notice of the public meeting was circulated to the area affected and to all
land owners within 120 metres of the area affected on August 12, 1987 in
accordance with Ontario Regulations. In addition, notices were sent to
Agencies considered to have an interest in the matter.
All persons present will be afforded the opportunity of asking questions
with respect to the proposed Official Plan and Rezoning Amendments.
Reeve Drury then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner
Ms. Holly Spacek who explained the purpose and affect of the proposed
amendments.
The Reeve then asked the Clerk if there had been any correspondence
received on this matter; the Clerk responded that there had been a letter
received from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications from
Mr. K. Ainsworth advising the Municipality that the Developer would require
Building Land Use and Sign Permits which should be accompanied by a
Site Drainage Plan. As well, the Ministry of Transportation and Communications
advised that direct access to Highway No. 11 is not recommended.
The Reeve then asked those present if they had any questions or concerns
with regards to the proposal.
There were no questions from those present.
The Reeve in closing the meeting thanked those in attendance for their
participation and advised that Council will consider all matters before
reaching a decision; he also advised those present that if they wished

their name and address with the Clerk.
