11 07 1988 Public Minutes (2) THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ORO MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 1988 @ 7:00 - COUNCIL CHAMBERS SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SIXTH MEETING 1985-88 COUNCIL The following members of Council were present: Reeve Robert E. Drury Deputy Reeve Thelma Halfacre Councillor David Burton Councillor David Caldwell Councillor Robert Swerdon Reeve Robert E. Bev Nicolson, Dwight Taylor, Paul Partridge, Lloyd Chappell, J. McKnight, Morley Campbell, Dwight Hesson, Russ Besse, Harry Hughes, David Williams, Dave Woronka, Buffi Woronka, Marilyn Swerdon, Fran Hanney, Bill Pidlysny, Stephen Woodrow, Merv Walt, Trudy Walt, Stuart Woodrow, Shirley Woodrow, Jean Crawford, J. Ksenych, N. Nikolovzos, Allan Johnson, Ron Sommers, Judy Catania, Spiro Catania, Russ Chew, M & K Duchnaj, V. Kunynet and 2 members of the press. Drury chaired the meeting. Also present were: Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to those present that the purpose of the public meeting was to introduce a proposed zoning by-law amendment under Section 34, Subsection (12 of the Planning Act. The proposed zoning amendment is to rezone those lands situated on Lot 19, Plan 755 from "SR" Shoreline Residential to "RG" General Residential to permit a permanent residential unit. Notice of the public meeting was circulated to the area affected and to all land owners within 120 metres of the affected area in accordance with Ontario Regulations and the Township of Oro Official Plan. In addition, notices were sent to agencies considered to have an interest in the matter. The Reeve then asked the Clerk if there had been any correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded that the Municipality had received a letter from the Simcoe County District Health Unit from Mr. Jerry Bruce, Public Health Inspector, indicating that the Simcoe County District Health Unit was not opposed to the consent being granted to this application. The Reeve then stated that all persons present would be afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to the proposed rezoning amendment. Reeve Drury then turned the meeting over to the Township Planner Ms. Beverly Nicolson who explained the purpose and affect of the proposed amendment. The Reeve then asked those present if they had any questions or comments with regards to the proposal. Ms. Janis McKnight asked where the proponents were going to get their water supply from. This question was responded to by the Township Planner Ms. Beverly Nicolson who indicated that there was a proposed well to be drilled on the site. As there were no further questions from those present, the Reeve in closing the meeting, thanked those in attendance for their participation and advised that Council would consider all matters before reaching a decision. He also advised those present that if they wished to be notified of the passing of the proposed by-law, they should leave their name and address with the Clerk. ~ - 2 - ion No.1 by Swerdon, seconded by Burton it resolved that we do now adjourn this Special Public ting @ 7:09 p.m. Carried.
