Bev Nicolson:
The particular location of these lands
supports the fact that there is going to
be pressure on the area as their is
existing development in ttat area of this
nature being commercial and some industrial.
Yes there are lands in the Township which
are class 2 which I would recommend not be
redesignated however because of the
particular location of these lands I supported
the change. Also discussions with the
Ministry of Agriculture and Food with the
area in general, were although reluctant,
realized the pressure for development and
perhaps some pressure has been taken off
other agricultural lands.
Jean Crawford:
Maybe Oro Township should set up a right
to farm rule_to preserve our,agricultural
lands, especially those zoned 1 and 2.
Reeve Drury:
Oro Township does support the right to farm
legislation and we have sent a resolution
to the County and the Province.
Neighbour:
Darrell Karas
Would there be any problem with that pond
as far as cleanliness, mosquitos, etc.
Dave McKee:
It's not really a pond. It's an area to
assist with storm water retention. I would
also like to move the road as far away as
possible from your property. If I can buy
that other piece of property beside Shell,
I will put the road in through there. The
Site Plan now is just preliminary.
Neighbour:
Darrell Karas
will the trucks be going north on the 1st
Concession or will they be coming in off
Hwy No. 11 and existing onto Hw No. 11.
Dave McKee:
They will be using Hwy No. 11 in both
directions.
Neighbour:
What does Inherent Hazard Zoning. mean?
Bev Nicolson:
Inherent Hazard Zoning is placed on lands
that have creeks running through them, deep
slopes, or springs which may make them
unsuitable for development. In this
particular area it is a flood plain area and
part of the Willow Creek Watershed so it
would not be appropriate for development on
these lands.
Neighbour:
Darrell Karas
Is there going to be any outside storage
for raw materials such as wood?
Dave McKee:
Most of the materials will be inside with
some outside storage facilities.
As there were no further questions from those present, the
Reeve in closing the meeting thanked those in attendance for
their participation and advised that Council would consider
all matters before reaching a decision. He also advised those
present that if they wished to be notified of the passing of the
proposed by-law, they should leave their name and address
with the Clerk.
