SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING
17TH MEETING 1988-1991 COUNCIL
The following members of Council were present:
Reeve Robert E. Drury
Deputy Reeve David Caldwell
Councillor David Burton
Councillor Alastair Crawford
Councillor Allan Johnson
Also present were:
Ms. Bev Nicolson, Mr. Ron Watkin,
Mr. Todd Stocks, Mr. R. Vanderzande,
Mr. & Mrs. Allman, Ms. Nicole Mirza,
Mr. Desmond McGurrin, Mrs. Buffi Woronka,
and one member of the press.
Reeve Robert E. Drury chaired the meeting.

DISCLOSURE AND DECLARATION OF CONFLICT OF INTEREST
None declared.
Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to
those present that the purpose of the Public Meeting was
to introduce a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under
Section 34 of the Planning Act. The proposed amendment will
change the zoning on certain parcels of land to permit
permanent residential use. The particular parcels of land
are as follows: Part of Lot 25, Concession 10 (Barnes;
Lot 39, Plan 1488 (Mirza); Lots 85 - 89, Plan 1488 (McGurrin).
Notice of the Public Meeting was mailed out on March 1, 1989
to all property owners within 400 feet of the subject lands.
The Reeve then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk responded
by indicating that there had been no correspondence received.
The Reeve then stated that all persons present would be
afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to
the proposed zoning by-law amendment. Reeve Robert E. Drury
then turned the meeting over to Township Planner Ms. Beverly
Nicolson who explained the purpose and effect of the proposed
amendment.
The Reeve then asked those present if they had any questions
or comments with regards to this proposal.
Mr. Allman:
How will the adoption of this proposed
amendment affect future applications for
conversions? Will they go through the
same procedure or will this be a precedent
for conversions of the same size in
the same area?
Bev Nicolson:
The conversion process may be undertaken
by any property which complies with the
requirements. Some have been converted
already and subject to meeting the
criteria others are expected in the future.

As there were no further questions from those present,
the Reeve in closing the meeting, thanked those in attendance
for their participation and advised that Council would
consider all matters before reaching a decision. He also
advised those present that if they wished to be notified of
the passing of the proposed by-law, they should leave their
name and address with the Clerk.

Be it resolved that we do now adjourn this Special Public
Meeting @ 7:10 p.m. Carried.
