SPECIAL PUBLIC MEETING
MONDAY, AUGUST 28, 1989 @ 7:45 P.M. - COUNCIL CHAMBERS
FIFTY-FIRST MEETING 1988-1991 COUNCIL
The following membersof Council were present:
Reeve Robert W. Drury
Councillor Alastair Crawford
Councillor Allan Johnson
Absent:

Also present were:
Mr. Ron Watkin, Mr. Richard Vandersande
Mrs. Gail O'Brien, Mr. Michael Douglas,
Mr. W. R. Daniel, Mrs. D. Mackellar
Lemmon, Mrs. D. Mackellar Cameron, and
One Member of the Press.
Reeve Robert E Drury chaired the meeting.
Reeve Robert E. Drury opened the meeting by explaining to
those present the purpose of this Special Meeting was to
introduce a proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment under Section
34 (12) of the Planning Act. The proposed Zoning By-Law
Amendment is to zone a portion of those lands located in
the West Part of Lot 28, Concession 3, from Natural Area (NA)
Zone to General Residential (RG) Zone.
Notice of the Public Meeting was circulated to all property
owners within 400 feet of the subject lands. Notice of the
Publice Meeting was also placed in both the Barrie Examiner
and Ori lia Packet and Times on July 29, 1989.
The Reeve then asked the Clerk if there had been any
correspondence received on this matter. The Clerk reponded
by indicating that no correspondence had been received.

The Reeve then stated that those persons present would be
afforded the opportunity of asking questions with respect to
the proposed Zoning By-Law Amendment.
Reeve Robert E. Drury then turned the meeting over to the
Townshipls Planning Consultant, Mr. Ron Watkin of Ainley
and Associates to explain the purpose and effect of the
proposed Official Plan Amendment.
At the conclusion of Mr. Watkin's presentation, those present
were asked if they had any questions or concerns with respect
to the matter.
QUESTION:
Mrs. D. Lemmon:
Will the proponents be building a
road?
Mr. Ron Watkin:
The proponents, along with the
abutting land owners are building
a joint driveway to County Road 20.
Mr. Daniel:
Will the property be landlocked?
Mr. Ron Watkin:
The proponents are proposing to
build a joint driveway and therefore
the land will not be landlocked.

The Reeve in closing the meeting, thanked those in attendance
for their participation and stated th~Council would give
consideration of all matters before reaching a decision. If
anyone wished to be notified of the passing of the proposed
By-Law they should leave their name and address with the
Clerk.

Be is resolved that the Special Public Meeting of Council
(Douglas) now be adjourned @ 7:50 p.m. Carried.
