Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on June 14, 1993
at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, Moonstone.

Resolution 93-125 was passed as follows:
"That Councillor D. Bell assume the chair for the June 14, 1993 Medonte Council Meeting".

ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Resolution 93-126 was passed as follows:
"That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held
on May 25, 1993 and the minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held under provisions
of the Planning Act on June 9/93 be adopted as printed and circulated".
DELEGATIONS
1. Mr. Don Barbour of Pine Ridge Ski Club approached Council to request Council relieve
the Club of responsibility of putting up a letter of credit for their three lot
development.
Resolution 93-127 was passed as follows:
"That Council accept as substantially complete the works constructed on Pine Ridge
Trail by the Pine Ridge Ski Club and directs the Clerk prepare a Road Assumption By-
law and authorizes the issuance of Building Permits subject that the Ski Club puts
deposit or letter of credit in the amount of $4,000.00 per lot with the Township".

Council met with Mr. G. Ball, Township Roads Superintendent and Mr. P. Smith,
Township Engineer to discuss the construction of a Bridge on the 7th Concession. It
was noted that the Township had a 75,000 Supplementary allocation based on
expenditure of $100,000.00. Mr. P. Smith estimated a cost of $125,000 to tender the
job. Mr. Ball suggested the Township crew could do much of the work which would
reduce the costs.

Mr. Ball also advised that the Township had 52,500 Supplementary funding towards
the purchase of a grader. Council directed the grader be tendered for.

Mr. Ball advised that the Ministry had advised that effective July 1, 1993 roadside grass
mowing was not eligible for subsidy. Council directed Mr. Ball do grass cutting on high
traffic roads.

BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES
1. Resolution 93-128 was passed as follows:
"That Reeve Beard be authorized to attend the Association of Municipalities of Ontario
1993 Annual Conference to be held in Hamilton on August 22, 23 & 24".
2.
Council discussed a letter from Weir & Foulds which requested the O.M.B. Hearing for
Mr. Stills' Orr Lake project in late September. Council directed the Clerk advise
O.M.B. they still feel the hearing should be delayed until after restructuring.

PASSING OF BY-LAWS
1. Resolution 93-129 was passed as follows:
"That a By-law to adopt estimates for the year 1993 and provide for a levy to raise the
required funds by taxation be considered read a fIrst and second time, read a third time
and passed this 14th day of June, 1993 and numbered By-law 1993-18".
2. Resolution 93-130 was passed as follows:
"That a By-law to authorize the sale of lands be considered read a fIrst and second
time, read a third time and passed this 14th day of June, 1993 and numbered By-law
1993-19".
NEW BUSINESS
1. Resolution 93-131 was passed as follows:
"That Council of the Township of Medonte authorizes that the Ministry of
Transportation Quarry, Pt Lot 20 Con 13, be added to the aggregate sources list for
possible Wayside Pit Permits for Highway contracts subject to proper blasting
procedures".
2.
Resolution 93-132 was passed as follows:
"That Council of the Township of Medonte approves of a reduction in the letter of
credit for Robin Crest Developments in the amount equal to costs for resurfacing the
streets in Plan M-101 and M-123 and the 8th Concession upon proof of payment".

Resolution 93-133 was passed as follows:
"That Council approves of the Ministry of Natural Resources placing some gravel on the
unopen road allowance, 3rd Concession, Horseshoe Valley, to allow for the use of the
road as an entrance to the Silvilog Exposition this fall,
and that all work will be done by the Ministry of Natural Resources, and that the
contractors shall carry Liability Insurance to indemnity the Township,
and the road shall be clearly marked as unopen and unassumed".

LOCAL BOARDS & COMMI.TrEE'S
1. The Clerk advised Council that they would receive the same amount in Library Grant
for 1993 as 1992 and that the contracts with the Local Boards would remain the same
in 1993.

OTHER BUSINESS
1.
Council received and approved a wage and salary breakdown for the year 1993.
Various other pieces of correspondence were presented, received as informational and f1led.

Resolution 93-134 was passed as follows:
"That Roads Voucher #5 in the amount of $98,916.60 be authorized for payment".
2. Resolution 93-135 was passed as follows:
"That General Voucher #5 in the amount of $243,115.27 be authorized for payment".
ADJOURNMENT
Resolution 93-136 was passed as follows:
"That this meeting be adjourned to meet again on July 12, 1993 at 7:00 p.m.".
