at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, Moonstone.

ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Resolution 93-137 was passed as follows:
"That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on June 14, 1993 be adopted as printed
and circulated".

DELEGATIONS
1. Council met with Mr. G. Ball, Township Roads Superintendent to open tenders received
for the purchase of a grader. There was one tender received.

Resolution 93-138 was passed as follows:
" That Council of the Township of Medonte accepts the Tender of Champion Road Machinery
Sales Ltd. in the amount of $159,613.14 for the purchase of a Class 7 Grader subject to review
of tender by Roads Superintendent and approval of Ministry of Transportation".
Council discussed the Roads Budget and approved of proceeding with the roof repairs for the
Public Works Garage.
Mr. Ball advised the Roads Department would be starting work on the culvert repair on the
7th Concession the week of August 9, 1993.
BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES
1.
Resolution 93-139 was passed as follows:
"That prior to a meeting with Horseshoe Resort Corporation regarding their Timber
Ridge Development, Council will require a $10,000.00 deposit to be used to cover
consultants fees, and that the fIrst meeting shall be to resolve fmancial obligations to
the Municipality".

The Clerk updated Council with regard to the Social Contract. He advised the
Municipal Sector has not yet negotiated a sectoral agreement which would reduce the
impact by 20% but that a local plan had to be in place by August 1, 1993. He advised
that the local plan would include the days off without pay already mandated by Council,
more days off for people over $30,000.00 if required., reductions in the number of
Council meetings, reductions in convention and travel expenses and cuts to the Fire
Department Capital if required. He also noted that due to restructuring, the plan
would only address 1993.

Council opened the quotations received for repairs to Medonte Hills Pumphouse. There
were to quotations received.
a) Bud Lawrence Construction Ltd.
Roof - $3,692.57
Walls - $2,867.60

Roof - $3,606.38
Walls - $2,827.98
Resolution 93-140 was passed as follows:
" That Council accepts the quotation of Fell Construction in the amount of $3,606.38 for Roof
and $2,827.98 for Walls for repairs at the Medonte Hills Pumphouse".
NEW BUSINESS
1. Resolution 93-141 was Defeated as follows:
"That Council agree's to write off taxes owing to the Municipality with regard to lands
known as Block A, Plan M-I0, and that Council agree's to accept title to the lands
known as Block A Plan M-10".
2. Resolution 93-142 was Defeated as follows:
"That Council endorses a resolution of the County of Simcoe which condemns the recent
Provincial Government fmancial cut backs".
3. Council reviewed a submission from Jorden & Jones regarding a strategic plan for the
Township of Oro/Medonte. Council had no comment.
4. Resolution 93-143 was passed as follows:
"That Council approves in principal the fIrm of Northern Cable Communications
supplying and installing a cable television system for the Village of Hillsdale, subject to
approval by the Police Village and Roads Superintendent of the proposed installations".

LOCAL BOARDS & COMMITTEE'S
1. Resolution 93-144 was passed as follows:
"That the minutes of a meeting of the Joint Councils of Oro and Medonte held on June
21, 1993 be adopted as printed and circulated".

OTHER BUSINESS
1. Council reviewed proposed rezonings in neighbouring Municipalities and requested the
Clerk write to Flos Township regarding proposed development around Orr Lake.
2. Council requested Deputy Reeve investigate a request from Oro Township to join the
Planning Committee for the 1994 O.M.R.A Conference.
3. Council deferred adopting Reeve Beards proposed response to the County Planning
Committee report #17 for further discussion.

Council had a lengthy discussion regarding a Full Time Fire Chief for the Township and
directed the Administrator talk to the existing Part Time Chief and the Treasurer to
review the Budget.
PASSING OF ACCOUNTS
1. Resolution 93-145 was passed as follows:
"That Roads Voucher #6 in the amount of $150,450.64 be authorized for payment".

Resolution 93-146 was passed as follows:
"That General Voucher #6 in the amount of $860,044.73 be authorized for payment".
PERSONNEL
1. Resolution 93-147 was passed as follows:
"That Council agrees to accept and implement a memorandum of settlement with regard
to Mr. J. Brydges and his complaint to the Ontario Pay Equity Commission".
ADJOURNMENT
Resolution 93-148 was passed as follows:
"That this meeting be adjourned to meet again on August 23, 1993 at 7:00 p.m.".
