Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on August 30, 1993 at 9:00 a.m. in Council Chambers, Moonstone. Present Reeve Deputy Reeve Councillors - 1. Beard N. Dalziel D. Bell W. Dickie M.Martin e The meeting was called to review the Township Budget and various ongoing projects. Council met with Mr. G. Ball, Roads Superintendent, to review the status of culvert replacement, 7th concession. It was noted that the replacement would cost more then the funds budgeted for repair. The amount would not be known until the job was completed and until it was known if additional Provincial Funding was available. Council directed the Roads Superintendent not complete the other construction jobs until the 7th Concession job was fmalized. A letter of resignation from Mr. Peters, By-law Enforcement Officer was presented and accepted with regret. The Clerk advised that Mr. Peters was willing to work one or two days for Medonte Township until the end of the year. Council met with Mr. Peters and agreed to retain him on a Part Time basis at a rate of $20.00 per hour with the understanding that Mr. Peters would not remain on the Township Benefit Plan and that he would schedule regular days in Medonte. The Council discussed the anticipated shortfall in Building Revenue. The Council directed the Clerk negotiate a new contract with the Building Inspector with reduced hours and that the matter be discussed at a Protection to Persons and Property Meeting to be held in the near future. The Council discussed the Fire Department Budget. It was noted that the Capital Expenditures were now over expended and more purchases were being made. e MOVED BY Dalziel SECONDED BY Martin That Resolution 93-153 passed on July 26/93 be rescinded. Carried. MOVED BY Dickie e SECONDED BY Martin That no further Capital Expenditures be made by the Fire Department until a Budget review. Carried. e e e e August 30, 1993 Page 2 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE Councillor Martin advised he would contact the Fire Chief and set up a Protection to Persons and Property Committee Meeting as soon as possible. OTHER 1) Council directed a letter be sent to Horseshoe Resort Corporation outlining the position of Council with regard to the Timber Ridge Condominium Development. 2) Reeve Beard gave a verbal presentation on his attendance at the AM.O. Convention and advised a written report would be prepared. 3) Council discussed the recent Public Hearings held with regard to the County of Simcoe Restructuring Legislation. It was decided this matter should be on the Agenda for the next Joint Meeting. 4) Reeve Beard brought up the matter of Buffalo Springs and the Oro Corridor Policy and his displeasure that Medonte Council are not being kept advised by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs.
