Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on October 12, 1993
at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, Moonstone.

ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Resolution 93-186 was passed as follows:
"That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on September 27/93 be adopted as
printed and circulated".
DELEGATIONS
1) Mrs. Wright represented a group from Horseshoe Valley with regard to the Communal
Tile Beds. She reviewed the property owners proposal for assumption which the
Council was in basic agreement with subject that the property owners understood user
charges and reserve funds would have to be determined and that all engineering and
legal fees would be charged to the user.
2) Council met with Mr. G. Ball, Roads Superintendent to discuss various roads matters.
Council approved of the installation of guard rails at the 7th Concession bridge. Council
approved of Mr. Ball repairing the roof on the garage and doing a portion of the 3rd
Concession construction job.
BUSINESS ARISING FROM MINUTES
1)
Council received Reeve Beard's report on County Report #17 regarding Cross Boundary
Issues and deferred it to next meeting.

2) Resolution 93-187 was passed as follows:
"That Council of the Township of Medonte advise the County of Simcoe Solid Waste
Management Committee that they are opposed to report 93-76 because;
1) The rebate is not retroactive to January 1, 1992.

The rebate proposed should be calculated monthly and subtracted from the
County invoice".
PASSING OF BY-LAWS
1) Resolution 93-188 was passed as follows:
"That a By-law decreasing the speed limits of motor vehicles be considered read a fIrst
and second time, read a third time and passed this 12th Day of October, 1993 and
numbered By-law 1993-23".

NEW BUSINESS
1) A letter outlining Council's Equalization Factor was presented.
2) Resolution 93-189 was Defeated as follows:
"That Council of the Township of Medonte approves of the Huronia Museum operating
a Nevada Lottery from the Tasty Market, Moonstone".
3)
Resolution 93-190 was passed as follows:
"That Council approves of the following reduction of taxable assessment, under Section
443 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, for reason as stated:

4) Council directed the Clerk prepare a resolution of support for the City to Nepean
request regarding Bill 77.
OTHER BUSINESS
1) Resolution 93-191 was passed as follows:
"That Council recommend to Joint Oro-Medonte Council Mr. G. Ball and a Councillor
attend the Ontario Good Roads Association 1994 Annual Conference".
Various other pieces of correspondence were presented, discussed and rued as informational.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
1)
Council reviewed an update from their Planning Consultant on the status of O.P.A
#17. They agreed to have a meeting with representatives of Oro Township on O.P.A
#17 on October 27, 1993 at 9:00 a.m.
2)
Resolution 93-192 was passed as follows:
''Whereas Joe Casey was appointed Fire Chief under By-law 1993-13;
And whereas Council is desirous that the position of Fire Chief become a full time
position effective November 1, 1993;
Now therefore, Council adopts the proposed offer of Employment as agreed to be Mr.
Casey".
PASSJNG OF ACCOUNTS
1) Resolution 93-193 was passed as follows:
"That General Voucher #9 in the amount of $968,995.65 be authorized for payment".

Resolution 93-194 was passed as follows:
"That Roads Voucher #9 in the amount of $145,125.60 be authorized for payment".
ADJOURNMENT
1) Resolution 93-195 was passed as follows:
"That this meeting be adjourned to meet again on November 8th at 7:00 p.m."
