Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on November 22,
1993 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, Moonstone.

ADOPTION OF MINUTES
Resolution 93-217 was passed as follows:
"That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on November 8, 1993 and the minutes
of a Special Meeting of Council held November 18, 1993 be adopted as printed and circulated".
DELEGATIONS
Mr. Dave Pridham approached Council as requested to explain his actions in removing trees
from an unopened Road Allowance without Township permission. Mr. Pridham advised he had
hired someone to clear some trees in order to allow him to fence his property and the
contractor had expanded the area cut. He advised that about four full cord of wood had been
cut and placed on his property. He advised Council he knows he is in the wrong and agreed
to make restitution to Council so no further action would be taken and the matter could be
resolved. Council thanked Mr. Pridham for his attendance and advised they would make a
decision later in the meeting and advise him.
BUSINESS ARISING FROM :MINUTES

1)
Council reviewed a request from J.H Investments for assumption of their development
and correspondence from the Township Solicitor.
Resolution 93-218 was passed as follows:
"That Council advise J.H. Investments that they are not in a position to assume the
roads in their development at this time as the Developer has not met the terms of
Final Completion,
And that Council draws section 14.6 to the attention of the developer".

PASSING OF BY-LAWS
1) Resolution 93-219 was passed as follows:
"That a By-law to impose a charge on lands assessed for Maintenance for Municipal
Drain # 1 be considered read a fIrst and second time, read a third time and passed this
22nd Day of November 1993 and numbered By-law 1993-25".

NEW BUSINESS
1) Resolution 93-220 was passed as follows:
"That Council of the Township of Medonte endorses a resolution of the Municipality of
Neebing with regard to amending the Telephone Gross Receipt Tax".
2)
Resolution 93-221 was passed as follows:
"That Council of the Township of Medonte endorses a resolution of the Township of
Onondaga with regards to compensation for lands joining Native Reserves".
3) Resolution 93-222 was passed as follows:
"That Council of the Township of Medonte endorses a resolution of the Town of New
Tecumseth which requests an amendment to the Planning Act".
4) Resolution 93-223 was passed as follows:
"That Council approves of the following write off of business taxes as uncollectable due
to bankruptcy under the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1990, Chapter M45, Section 441:"

7) Council reviewed a request from Mrs. Glenna Tinney for a refund of fees charged.
Resolution 93-226 was Defeated by Recorded Vote as follows:
"That Council approves of a refund in the amount of $27.51 to Mrs. Glenna Tinney".

LOCAL BOARDS & ASSOCIATIONS
1) Resolution 93-227 was passed as follows:
"That the minutes of a meeting of the Joint Oro-Medonte Council held in November
15, 1993 be adopted as printed and circulated."
OTHER BUSINESS
1) Resolution 93-228 was passed as follows:
.
Whereas the Police Village of Hillsdale have overspent their current budget and
reserves during 1993;
And whereas they recently had a water main breakage under Highway 93;
And whereas emergency repairs had to be performed;
Now therefore, be it resolved that the Township of Medonte authorizes on
behalf of the Police Village of Hillsdale payment of an invoice from Wayne McKever
Plumbing & Trenching in the amount of $21,318.09;
And further be it resolved that the general accounts of the Township will fund
the over expenditure as at the end of 1993;
And further that the Township of Medonte will consider this to be an item for
compensation and reimbursement under section 32 of the County of Simcoe Act."

Resolution 93-229 was passed as follows:
"That Council authorizes the purchase of used breathing apparatus and equipment for
$2000.00 plus taxes".
3) Council recognized Doris Miller and Isabel Barr for their years of attending Council
meetings and thanked them for the interest they have shown in their Community.

4) MOVED BY MARTIN
SECONDED BY DICKIE
That Council will accept the following as a settlement with Mr. Dave Pridham for
removal of wood from a Township Road Allowance -

1)
Brush on Road Allowance to be chipped or removed;
2) Mr. Pridham to pay Municipality $500.00 for wood;
3) That above two conditions to be met by December 10, 1993;
4) Mr. Pridham to plant 100 seedlings on the Road Allowance in spring of 1994.
CARRIED

1) Resolution 93-230 was passed as follows:
"That this meeting be adjourned to meet again on December 13/93 at 7:00 p.m."
