CQWQiL met witb the Roads Superintendent and Treasurer and reviewed the final 1989 Budget. ~ Re.scl:ution....2Q.::22 was passed as follows: " That Medonte Council petitions the Ministry of Transportation for subsidy on the 1989 Road Expenditures in the amount of $925,613.85". A large majority favoured this proposal. M:!;:!.....J~Z;wgpJ'!s~i expressed concern over the present hours of operation which has the crusher running 24 hours a day. ~ Mr..'W"H:unteJ~.s!Jg:~e.tgg Council should enact a By-Law to control the hours of operation in order to minimize the effects of the operation to the local residents. He requested Council advise the Minister of Natural Resources of this concern. Mr'wR..L...R~ng~Q1J:!:::liDE?Q the process for expansion of the pit operation and explained it required (a) An Official Plan Amendment (b) A Zoning By-Law Amendment ( c) A Licencing Application ~ He.G.dyiQ..ed~.tha:t"tlle process requires many public meetings and that many of the i terns of concern could be dealt with at those meetings. He advised that Seeley & Arnill and Council had tried to deal with the matters of concern raised at the November Public Meeting and that other concerns would be dealt with at future meetings. He advised that the gravel must be excavated where it is found. He explained that the public had three opportunities to appeal the process. MJ;:.~.J2QrgaLgt Horseshoe Valley Resorts expressed concern over the visual impact the gravel operation has on his resort operation and requested that the site be buffered or rehabilitated in order to lessen the impact.
