02 09 1988 Council Minutes THE CORPORA nON OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, February 9, 1988 at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone. Present Reeve ~ I. Amos Deputy Reeve - I. Beard Councillors - H. Vasey - J. Clarke - R. Beleskey ~ Res()hltion 88- J 7 was passed as follows: " That the minutes of a meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, January 26, 1988 be adopted as printed and circulated". - was a Public Meeting to deal with a By-Law to "Stop-Up and Sell" a portion of Road Allowance. The Clerk advised Council that in compliance to the Municipal Act notice was placed in a local newspaper for four consecutive weeks and that notice was posted in the area of the proposed closure. The Clerk advised that no one had requested to appear before Council at the meeting. ResQlutioD 88-18 was passed as follows: " That a By-Law to stop up and sell a portion of road allowance within the Township be considered read a first and second time, read a third time and passed this 9th day of February, 1988 and numbered By~Law 88-2". (CQundl met with G.. Ball, Road's Superintendent, and discussed varIOUS roads matters. .I]) Mr. R. Hough of the!1 th concession approached Council with a petitIOn of local residents requesting repair of the Hardtop on the Mt. St. Louis Road from Highway 12 to the 12th Concession and the hardtopping of the Mt. St. Louis Road from the 12th to the 10th Concession. Mr. Hough also presented a letter outlining complaints with the snow rernoval on his road this winter and asking Council to improve the service. 2) CQuncitlD.~with the Township Fire Chief and the two mechanical officers and discussed the purchase of a used fire truck being offered for sale by the City of OdIlia. - ResQlutioD 88~ 19 was passed by recorded vote as follows: " That Council bid $15,150.00 for the purchase of a used 1968 Ford 850 Tiltcab Triple Combination Pumper from the IDf Orillia!'. Yeahs - Beard, Beleskey, Clarke Nays - Vasey, Amos 3) Cp!.mcil met with Beatrice Woodrow, Township Treasurer. She presented the Treasurer's Statement for the year 1987. She discussed various other financial matters with Council. ~ , Resol\itjPD 88-20 was passed as follows: " That Medonte Council petitions the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for subsidy on the 1987 Road Expenditures in the amount of $748,119.65". Reeve
