Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Thursday, February
25, 1988 at 8:00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone.

" That the minutes of a regular meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on
February 9, 1988 and the minutes of a Special Meeting of Committee of the Whole of
Council on February 11, 1988 be adopted as printed and circulated".

Eady-Grenard Women's Institute, with Mrs. Tinney as their spokesperson
appr,oached Council regarding waste management. They asked Council if they had considered
a Township program of recycling. Councillor Clarke explained that the Township was managing
the Waste Site and serer"'ting out appliances, wood products and scrap metal. Council noted
that it would be impossible to get into more recycling when the Township did not provide a
collection service.
~.2L... Mr. D. Hew~H, representing ratepayers on Plans M-I0, M-11, and Mr. T. Englehart, representing
ratepayers on Plan 1531 presented Council with petitions requesting Council assume the
Communal Sewage System in Horseshoe Valley and put the affected residents on a special
area to allow for the coHection of a fee for the maintenance of the system. They did not
feel the fee should establish a reserve fund for repa1cement. Council outlined some of the
problems, both legally and physically and advised the gentlemen that they would consider the
request.
1) Resolution 88-35 was passed as follows:
" That a By-Law designating reduced load periods be considered read a first and second
time, read a third time, and passed this 25th day of February, 1988 and nurnbered By-Law
88-4".

2) Resolution 88-36 was passed by recorded vote:
" That A By-Law to amend Zoning By-Law 82-25 be considered read a first, second and
third time and passed this 25th day of February, 1988 and numbered By-Law 88-5".

the Township of OriUia regarding the maintenance of the Orillia-Medonte Townline".

Rama with regard to the licencing of group homes".

" That Council of the Township of Medonte endorses the resolution of the Village of
Elmvale regarding Sunday and Holiday Shopping".

" That Highway 93 be designated a Heritage Highway and the name shall be the

Adjustment from $4-5 to $50 for the Chairman and $40 to $4-5 for the members".

"l) Resolution 88-4-3 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves repairs to the Warminster Fire Truck at an estimated cost of
$2300.00".
The Clerk presented .a report on the meeting between the Township Solicitor and the developers
of Plan M- 101 and M-123. Council approved of the decisions taken and directed the Clerk have
the Solicitors proceed.

System.

,1) Resolution 88-4-4 was passed by recorded vote as follows:
II Moved that Gary Cunnington be appointed Clerk-Administrator for the Township of
Medonte effective Mar. 1st, 1988 at a salary of $4-0,000.00 and three weeks vacation".
