Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, May
9, 1989 in Council Chambers, moonstone.

Resolution 89-92 was passed as follows:
" That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on Tuesday, April 25, 1989 be
adopted as printed and circulated".

. Council met wl1h_G. Ball, Township Road's Superintendent. He adv ised Council that the
Robin Crest Developer would be doing the required work on the 8th concession. He also
adv ised Council that he felt the hardtopping budget would be reduced to allow for ripping up
and graveling of some roads. Council directed the Clerk adv ise residents of the 1 st concession
north of County Road 22 that Council could not hardtop their road.
~~ and Ross Raymond, Planning Consultants for Sealey & Arnill presented
Council with a proposed Official Plan Amendment for E-Y2 Lot 7, Concession 3. Council
adv ised them they would send the proposal to their Planner and Engineer for comments.
Council also adv ised that they would have no objection to holding a joint Official Plan-
ZOning By-Law Public meeting if possible.
. Mr. & Mrs. Kir!ill~:ttrl~~ approached Council regarding the operation of the Township of
Medonte Committee of Adjustment. They noted that the Committee shows no consistency
with regard to granting severance. They also questioned as to why Council retained Planners
and Lawyers to defend the Committee at Municipal Board Hearings. There was a general
discussion on the Committee of Adjustment. Council asked Mr. Kirkpatrick put his questions
in writing.
Mr. Jack_CJ.gr.ke~also expressed his view that the Committee was inconsistent. Mr. & Mrs.
Gee also expressed concerns over the operation of the Committee. Mr. Gee also discussed
rural subdivision requirements with Council.

Mr~ ~ M[s.~. RQadL.Pf 23 Champlain Cres. approached Council with a complaint regarding
Animal Control. They sts~~d that the Animal Control Officer had tempted their dog off their
property. They also advEeCt Council that they do not feel the Township Officer should be
telling people their dog must be tied up at all times. Council adv ised them they would meet
with their Dog Control Officer.

1) ReRort fcom the Township Engineer regarding water supply to the Bachly Subdivision was
presented. Council directed the Clerk contact Mr. Bachly regarding the water system.
2) The Townshi{:LSolicitor aclvised Council that Mrs. Pilon was appealing her By-Law convictio
regarding her trailer to the Ontario Court of Appeal.
a preliminary proposal for Development. Pt. Lot 68, Con. 1, and
directed the Clerk invite the parties to a Meeting.
9-) Resolution 89-9~. was passed as follows:
" That Council of the Township of Medonte endorses and supports the efforts of the
Simcoe County Federation of Agriculture to have the Township of Medonte included in
the Canadian Crop Drought Assistance Program".

5) Re:>Qlutioo. 89:::..91L was passed as follows:
" That Council of the Township of Medonte approves of the draft of the
Joint Agreement for the Operation and Management of the Coldwater Community
Centre" .

6) ResQIJ ItiOIl 89-9~ was passed as follows:
" That Council adopts the recommendations of the Planning and Development Committee
under date of April 28, 1989".
(7) Resolu1iQ11".]~ was defeated as follows:
" That Council approves of writing off the interest owing with regard to taxes, Roll
Number 10-054--58".

J) Resolution 89-97 was passed as follows:
" That Road's Voucher II 4- 10 the amount of $33,575.4-8 be aprpoved for payment".
2) Resolution 89-98 was passed as follows:
" That General Voucher /I 5 in the amount of $63,275.88 be approved for payment".
Various other pIeces of correspondence and reports were discussed as informational and
ordered filed.
Resolution 89-9~-Fas passed as follows:
" That this meeting be adjourned to meet again on Tuesday, May 23, 1989 at 7:00 P.M.
