THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE
Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on February 28,
1989 at 1 :00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone.

" That the minutes of a meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on
February 14, 1989 be adopted as printed and circulated".
. Council met with Mr. G. Ball, Township Road's Superintendent.

, Cmlnril reviewed the 19 applications for the Truck Driver's job recently adwertised. Council
picked out 5 people for the road's Superintendent to interview and test driving skills and
asked him to report back to Council with recommendations.
j;:ouncil dis<:u~,?~.Q tenders and directed tenders be called for gravel, sand, calcium and
surface treatment, tenders to close on March 28 at 12:00 Noon.
The Clerk reported on a meeting held regarding crossing protection at the 7th Concession
and C.P.R. He adr ised that the National Transportation Agency is recommending flashers
and requested Council put traffic control signs at the Crossing as an interim measure.

II That a By-Law providing for the erection of Stop Signs at intersections be considered
read a first and second time, read a third time and passed this 28th day of February,
1989 and numbered By-Law 89-08".
_ it Mr. H. .tSjermgDD & Mrs. M. Willsey of the OriIlia Convention and Visitor's Association
presented Council with a request for a grant in the amount of $500.00. Council deferred
their request to budget preparation.

for development, part lot 51, con. 1. Council requested Mr. Horne file a formal request
for rezoning of the parcel and if this goes through Council would look at requests for
severance and servicing as required.

met with Council .of discuss their development. They advised Council at what point
the servicing of both plans M- J Oland M- J 23 were at and outlined their plans for
completion. They request Council allow occupancy of lots 8 and 12, Plan M-123,
although the final servicing has not yet been completed.

Resolution 89:_46~...w.?S passed as follows:
II That Council approves of issuing occupancy permits for l<i)1;s 8 and 12 of Plan M-123
with the understanding that the final servicing is not yet complete and that no further
occupancy will be permitted until all servicing is completed;
and subject to approval of Township Building Inspector".
.council took a 10 minute break for coffee.
1) ResolutioD 89-47 was passed as follows:
" That a By-Law to repeal By-Law 88-05 be considered read a first and second time,
read a third time and passed this 28th day of February, 1989 and numbered By-Law
89-05".
2) Resolution 89-4_8~.was passed as follows:
" That a By-Law to provide for maintaining land in a clean and clear conditions be
considered read a first and second time, read a third time and passed this 28th day

" That the quotation of Waterloo Managment Consulting Group in the amount of $3,4-00.00
plus expenses for the preparation of a Pay Equity Plan for the Township of Medonte
be accepted".

pooling of Commercial and Industrial Assessment. Council decided to take no action.
Reeve advise the County Road's Department to change the meeting
regarding assumption of the 3rd Concession from March 14- to April 11.

decision until further discussion with Planner.

Clerk advise Mrs. Gordon that her plans were premature at this time and that they
would not consider any further development by severance;

adv ise him that they wished to discuss the matter with their Planner.

Clerk adv ise Mr .Brown that although his proposal has merit, any development would be
premature at this time.

" That Mr. L. Szabo be granted permission to place a trailer on his lot for temporary
shelter while constructing a residential unit on his property;
and trailer to be removed from property by end of September, 1989.
