Minutes of Inaugural Meeting
December 13, 1982 at 11:00 A.M.
Cmmcil of the Township of Medonte held on Monday,

but felt that with forethought and planning and hard work that Council would do a good job.
Cotmcillor VaseYccommented on the new office and thanked the staff for their efforts over
the past few years. He congratulated the Fire Department on their efforts during the train
derailment and felt that the Council must complete the switch over to a paging system for
the Fire Department.
Gouncillor ~~d expressed concern over having to work hard to hold the line during the term.
He also noted that the Township should prepare an emergency plan so it would be better prepared
for the future.
.Mr. D. Lewi s,~. thanked Council for the opporttirnity to attend and expressed his desire to
help in any way possible.
Mr. A. McLean, M.P.I'. congratulated the new Council on their new term. He congratulated the
Fire Department and the Simcoe County Mutual Aid on their job at the train derailment and
pointed out the importance of good fire protection. He offered his service to the new
Council in any capacity he could.
Mr. RL. CQQ~ Warden of Simcoe County congratulated Council on their election and Reeve
Amos on the length of his public service. He also complimented Council on their new office
stating it was a betterment for the entire community.
Tyfr. .J. RLDJlble , Mr. G. Dunn and Mr. D. St. Denis, the Hillsdale Police Village Trustees
congratulated Council and expressed their desire to work with the Council.
Mr. :3. Davie... Oro Township Reeve extended greetings and well wishes from Oro Township
and expressed his desire to work together to overcome the difficulties of the upcoming term.
\ Mr. A. Brand representing the Village of Coldwater also brought well wishes and a desire to
work together.
i~' K. Hamilton, Fire O1ief thanked Council and the Province for their cooperation during
the train derailment. He pointed out that the Township has a good fire department and
that funds are needed to keep the Fire Department functioning.
