01 11 1983 Council Minutes e - e e January THE CORF'CRATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, January 11, 1983 at Council Chambers, Moonstone, Ontario. Resolution 83-4 was passed as follows: " That a By-Law to appoint Fence Viewers for the township be considered read a first, and second time, read a third time and passed this 11th day of January, 1983 and numbered By-Law 83-2". Resolution 83-5 ~s passed as follows: " That a By-Law to appoint members to a Committee fer the management and control of Community Recreation Centres be considered read'a first and second time, read a third time and passed this 11th day of January 1983 and m:nnbered By-Law 83-3". Fire Chief K. Hamilton met with Council and reported that the Tanker from the Moonstone Hall is out of Qperation with a blown motor. He recorrmended the purchase ef a new pumper tanker with a 840 pump at an approximate cost of $65,000.00. He noted that to purchase a new tanker would cost approximately $52,000.00. The Clerk also presented correspondence from the Fire Chief notifying Council that under the Occupational Health and Safety Act much of the protective equipment now used by the Firemen would have to be replaced. There was also a discussion regarding making application for funds under the Provincial Auto Extrication Grant Program. TI".ere was also a discussion reagrding completir,g equipping the Fire Department with pagers and going to a Central Ar,swering System. Council deferred making a decision on any of the possibilities until more information was obtained. Rpsol11r;on R1-6~as passed as follows: " That Council directs the Fire Chief to make arrangements for renting a tank truck to serve the Township until the tanker truck is replaced. Was passed as follows: is hereby appointed as the Township of Medonte representative Conservation Authority for the years 1983, 1984 and 1985". passed as follows: Rynard and Mr. Ross Gibson are hereby appointed to the Medonte Committee of Adjustment for the years 1983, 1984 and 1985". passed as follows: Horace Vasey is hereby appointed to represent the Township of Medonte on the Huronia District HosJ:ital Board for the years 1983, 1984 and 1985". R) Rf'SO 1 utJ aD 83- 1,5 was passed as follows: " That this Council requests a grant from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for the resolution of objections to the recently passed and circulated comprehensive Zoning By-Law". 9) Resolution 83-16 was passed as follows: " That A. P. McNair proceed with the rezoning of the former Township Office to (' Commercial". 10) Resolution 83-17 was passed as follows: " That Council endorses the proposed Private Members Bill C-653, being an Act to amend the Farmers Creditors Arrangement Act". 11) Resolution 83-18 was passed as follows: " That Council approves of a payment of $1,207.50 to Mr. Ewart Ball for work at the Mt. St. Louis Dump Site". of correspondence were presented, discussed and filed. CQuncil decided to have a special meeting on Monday, January 17, 1983 at 1:00 P.M.
