Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, March
1, 1983 at 1: 00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone, Ontario
present

C9uncil met with Fire Chief K. Hamilton and opened tenders for the supply of a fire truck.

Proposal
C01mcil deferred making a the Fire Chief studied the quotes as submitted.
Council decided that if a special meeting was required to meet with the corrpanies Who
quoted that it would be held on Monday, March 7, 1983 at 1:00 P.M.
COIJlJ~il discussed a request by . Huronia Alarm and Fire Security to rent space for a
cabinet in the Moonstone Hall Which would hold some telephone equipment. Council
deferred decision until they discussed the proposal with the company.
~1) ReSQlutiQn 83-59 was passed as follows:
" That Mr. J. Rumble is hereby appointed to the Medonte Planning Board until
July 31, 1983".
#) "Reso]ntjon 81-60 was passed as follows:
" That Council petitions the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for final
payment to the Township of Medonte under the Community Planning Study Grant program
regarding the new Township Zoning By-Law".
3) Resoll1tion 83-61 Fas passed as follows:
" That Council approves of Mr. G. Thomas living in a 21 foot trailer on the Hillsdale
General Store property for a six week period While he makes repairs to the living
quarters of the store".
4) Resolution~J21::6f~""was passed as follows:
" Where'as Bill 159, An Act to revise the Planning Act has been enacted by the
Government of Ontario;
And whereas this Act delegates the authority for Consent with the Land Division
Committee for the County of Simcoe:
And Whereas the Act states that the County may delegate the authority for
Consent back to the local Municipality;
And Whereas the Township of Medonte has had its own Committee of Adjustment
granting consents since 1975 and is desirous that the corrmittee retain
Now therefore, Council of the Township of Medonte requests that the
Simcoe delegate its authority for consent back to the Committee
for the Township of Medonte".

WIDCil then recamTened the meeting with Planning Board Member Mr. O. Hill in attendance
for a joint meeting. A. McNair and Barb Ma:rshall of A. P. McNair and Associates were
also in attendance.

Mr, W. T ohJjA1:"]1 of Horseshoe Valley Resorts Ltd. approached Council and Planning Board
with plans for future development of their property. It was noted that the development
as planned would require an Official Plan Amendment and a rezoning.
~solurion R1-n1 was passed as follows:
" That this Council approves of Horseshoe Valley Rescrt Limited having an Official Plan
Amendment prepared for part of lots 1 and 2, concession 4 to provide for Condominium
Development of the subject lands".

for amending the Township ,Zoning By-Law 82-25".
