02 07 1984 Sp Council Minutes Special Meeting February 7, 1984 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONIE Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, February 7, 1984 at 7: 30 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone, Ont. Present Reeve - I. Amos Deputy Reeve - L. Johnstone Councillors - J. Patterson - I. Beard - H. Vasey - DELEQA:TIONS . MY. & Mrs. F. T Rrs~n met with Council to discuss the 11th Concession between the Warminster Sideroad and County Road 22. They noted that perhaps some ditching was required near their entrance as the water crosses the road in the spring. Council said they would look at this during their spring roads tour. They also requested that this portion of road be hardtopped. Council they would consider the request but that it could not be done in 1984. There was also a discussion regarc1ing increasing the amount of dust control used on the road. - CQuncil then met .>>i th Mrs. Gordon, Mrs. Smitham, Lynda Johnston and Sharon Pottage and discussed the allocation of Bi Centennial Funds, Council explained that they were keeping $500.00 towards an open house and were allocating $300.00 to the Hillsdale Historical Committee for duplicating their slide collection to be given to the Public School. Council agreed to allocate $1,000.00 towards the Moonstone group to be used in conjunction with the school to sponsor a series of pioneer activities at the sohool. Council also allocated $300.00 to the Warminster area. Council then decided to hold an office opening and open house on June 2, 1984 at 2:00 P.M. Council directed the Clerk invite the Councils of the neighbouring municipalities as well as the Warden and the members of Parliament. Mr. E. TPllrlQ:W apprQached Council regarding obtaining a severance on his property. Council noted that Mr. Thurlow has received his alloted number of severances and that the Official Plan policy has not changed. - PASSTN~ OF BY-IAW~ L) Resolution 84-3L~was passed as follows: " That a By-Law to provide for the payment of dog tax within the Township of Medonte be considered read a first and second time, read a third time and passed this 7th day of February, 1984 and numbered By-Law 84-2". 2} Resolution ,~ was passed as follows: " That a By-Law to amend the Zoning By-Law 82-25, as amended by By-Law 83-12 be considered read a first and second time, read a third time and passed this 7th day of February,. 1984 and numbered By-Law 84-3". - RtTSINE~S 1) Resolut:i,.QI1JL4=ll was passed as follows: " That the Reeve and Clerk are authorized to enter into an agreement on behalf of the Township with Burnham and Associates for the construction of the Warminster Reservoir subject to them supplying proof of insurance and Workmen's Compensation cover age' , . ~) The Clerk presented a letter of resignation from the Building Inspector and a copy of the advertisement which has been placed in the paper. 3) Rpsoll1tion M-34 was passed as follows: " That Council directs the Treasurer implement the wage increases as approved by Council immediately and directs that the required Inflation Restraint Board forms be su1:rnitted v;hen they are available". ~pec~al lVlee(:~ng rClge LWU reULUdLY I, 1.70'+ THE CORPORATION OF THE TCMlNSHIP OF MEDONTE 4) Resoll1t:i on B4-1S was passed as follows: " That the Building Permit fees be increased to: New House, cottages and chalets $125.00 and all other rates shall be increased by $10.00 5) . Council then reviewed a request from Horseshoe Valley Resort regarding what the costs would be for building permits and lot fees. Council dec.idprl thRt the building permit fee would be $125.00 per unit. The new lot fee will be $500.00 per unit and there will also be a water connection fee of $500.00 per unit. Under the Planning Act there will also be a dedication for park land and the Township will also require that their engineering and legal fees be covered. ~ - 6) Clerk p-rpc::ented a letter from Mr. Douglas R.Wilson offering his services on the Township Committee of Adjustment.
