THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE
Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held
on March 13, 1984 at 1:00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone, Ontario.

Resplution 84-51 was passed as follows:
" That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on February
14, 1984 and the minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held on
February 29, 1984 be adopted as printed and circulated".

Rpsolni-inn 84-52 was passed as follows:
" That Council petitions the Ministry of Transportation and Communications
for subsidy on the 1984 program of proposed expenditures in the amount
of $659,000.".
Conncj] then reviewed, the various tenders required for the upcoming year.
Council directed the Clerk and Superintendent to prepare tenders and to
advertise them to close on April 19, 1984. Council then discussed the
proposed bridge work on the 9th concession. Council gJi:recbed Ithe(C::>l:erk
to arrange a meeting with Mr. Walt of the M.T.C. at the bridge once the
weather becomes better.
Ipe Clerk presented a petition from the Ratepayers around Foxmead requesting
the lowering of the limit through Foxmead. Council agreed to lower the
llimit<to 60, km per hOllr and decided to decide on the area when on Roads Tour

1) ~ delegation from the Eady-Grenard Women's Institute approached
Council and requested that Council brush out along the Township Roads,
especially at the intersections. They expressed concern that during
the summer months the view is obstructed at some of the intersections.

1hey also expressed concern over the condition of the bridge near
Spences on the 11th concession. They asked that Council investigate
the soundness of the structure.

2) Mr. D. Hill and Mr. M. Miller approached COllncil regarding the opening
of a Machine Shop/ Welding Shop on a property, lot 50, concession 1.
Council noted that if the proposed operation was classed as a dry
operation,b~~~g~ne which did not create liquid affluent that it would
not require an Official Plan Amendment, only a Zoning change.
Resolution 84-53 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of Mr. D. Hill and Mr. M. Miller rezoning
a parcel of land, pt. lot 50, con. 1 from Rural to Restricted
Industrial ( M1) to allow for the operation of Machine Shop
and Welding Shop and request that they deposit $500.00 with the
Township to cover any costs, with the understanding that Mr. Hill
and Mr. Miller will be responsible for all costs related to the
rezoning" .

Resolution84~54 was passed as follows:
" That a By-Law to authorize a Treasurer and Deputy-Treasurer to
act on behalf of the Corporation be considered read a first
and second time, read a third time and passed this 13th day of
March, 1984 and numbered By-Law 84-7"

That a By-Law to appoint members to a Committee for the Management
and control of a Community Recreation Centre be considered read a
first and second time, read a third time and passed this 13th day
of March, 1984 and numbered By-Law 84-8".

Resolution 84-56 was passed as follows:
"
That a By-Law to fix the price and set the time for payment of water
be considered read a first and second time, read a third time and
passed this 13th day of March and numbered By-Law 84-9".

That General Voucher # 3 in the amount of $36,709.58 is hereby
approved for payment".

" That the Fire Chief include the number of men and number of trucks
which attend each fire and the time spent at each fire on his monthly
fire report".

" That the Ministry of Natural Resources be sent a letter telling them
to remove all gates, fences, signs and their obstacles placed by them
on our road allowances until such as they are prepared to lease
or purchase them from the Township

" That Council approves of writing
amount of $2,228.60 as uncollectable
from the sale to satisfy the lien".

" That Gary Cunnington be authdn:::i~ed to attend the Ontario Association
of Committees of Adjustment ana Consent Authorities Conference to be
held in Ottawa on May 22, 1984".
LResolution 84-63 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of Mrs. Sweet placing signs 18" to 24" within
the road allowance to be located at the Warminster Sideroad and the
9th and directs Mrs. Sweet contact the County for permission to place
signs at the intersection of County Road 19 and the 9th and County
Road 22 and the 9th".

Resolution 84-h4 was passed as follows:
"
That Beatrice Woodrow be authorized to attend the Municipal Tax
Collectors of Ontario Seminar ~o be held in Toronto on April 26,
and 27th, 1984".

ResoJution 84-65 was passed as follows:
" That Beatrice Woodrow be paid forty hours to make up for working
over her regular hours of work".
_~esolution 84-66 was passed as follows:
" That Council recommends file B-1/84, Mr. G. Ferris for approval
subject to the Township getting land for road widening".

Resolution 84-67 was passed as follows:
" That Council recommends file A-1/84, Mr. R. Lang for approval".
,Various other pieces of correspondence were presented to Council and
filed as informational.
