Minutes of a Special Meeting of COuncil of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, July 17,
1984 at 8:00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone.

CO\Jnd I met with Peter Smith and Henry Borgdorff of Reid and Associates who reported on
the bridge on the 9th Concession. They reported that before any work was undertaken a
complete anaylsis of the bridge should be done. They estimated that this analysis would
cost around $20,000.00
.Resolution 84-170 was defeated as follows:
" That Council authorizes Reid and Associates to proceed with an analysis of the bridge on
the 9th concession at a cost of $20,000.00".
Council directed ,tbe SupF'[jntennpnt to purchase the required signs and clearly mark all the
narrow bridges and to put advance signs on all the railway crossings. They also directed the
Superintendent to purchase concession signs to be placed along the Mt. St. Louis Road.
~ ~r. Doug St. Denis approached Council on behalf of the Firefighters Association to request
that Council give them the old fire truck from Hillsdale which was recently taken out of
service. They plan to fix it up so it will be available for parades and special occasions.
Resolution 8l~-171 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of turning the old Fire truck from Hillsdale which was recently
taken out of service to the Hillsdale Fire Fighters Association on the understanding it
will be available throughout the Township for use in parades and functions".

Dome Stadium in North York.
,3) Clerk presented a letter from the Province of Ontario advising that their application
for a 14,000 dollar Joint Emergency Planning PrQ8ram grant was accepted. Council
asked that the FIre Chief present a list of the items !rle plans to purchase to Council.

" That the Building Inspector's wages be raised to the part time rate now that he has
completed his probationary period, and that he be entitled to a Yz day of sick leave
per month".

The ,Clerk advised COImril that the Ministry of Community & Social Services have people
who have to do community service available. Council directed the Clerk advise them that
they have no need for these people at this time.
Clerk presented COuncil with the new reorganization study of Ontario Hydro for the
OriIlia, Bracebridge and Huntsville area.

the amount of $300, Roll 4-020, Doug Ped~l3, from May 1/84 to May 31/84, 8 months

Residential Public in the amount of $500.00, Roll 7-017, Patricia Casey, from May 1,
1984 to Dee. 31/84, 8 months, due to business ceased".

" That Council approves of a cancellation of business public assessment in the amount of $600,
Roll 9-177, Julianna Hervieux, for Mar. 1/84 to Dec. 31/84, 10 months, due to business sold,
Section 3:3 pending".
Resolution 84-178 as follows:
" That Council approves of a conversion of assessment from Commercial Public to Residential
Public in the amount of $1,450., Roll No.81-057, John R.Hallyburton for all of 1984, due
to business ceased in 1983".

" That Council approves of a cancellation of business public assessment in the amount of
$435, Roll 81-057,John R. Hallyburton, for all of 1984, due to business ceased in 1983".

" That Council approves of a cancellation of residential public assessment in the amount of
$650., Roll 81-154, James and Allan Hadaway from May 1/84 to Dec. 31/84, 8 months
due to a barn demolished".
. Resolution 84-182 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of a cancellation of residential public assessment in the amount
of $400., Roll 9-177, Steven Saswirsky, from April 23 to Dec. 31/84 , 253 days , due to
apartment razed by fire".
Resolution 84-183 was passed as follows:
" That CounciCapproves of a conversion of assessment from Commerical public to Residential
Public in the amount of $500., Roll 9-177, Steven Saswirsky, from April 23 to Dec.31/84,
253 days , due to business partially ceased because of a fire".
