01 08 1985 Council Minutes THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE Minutes of a Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, January 8, 1985 at 1 :00 P. M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone, Ontario. Present Reeve - I. Amos Deputy Reeve - L. Johnstone Councillors - J. Patterson - J. Beard - H. Vasey - ADOPTION OF MINUTES Resolution 82=1~~g.s passed as follows: " That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on December 10, 1984 and the minutes of a Special Meeting held on December 19, 1984 be adopted as circulated". COllnril met ~i:J;h ~~xt~Qn" Township Roads Superintendent and discussed roads matters. It was decided to defer the tendering for a radio system for more information. Council directed the Superintendent look at a used one way plow to see if it was suitable to purchase. The Clerk presented a letter from Mr. Doug Wilson requesting Council come further down the 9th with the hardtopping. Council deferred decision until budget time. - DELEGA TIONS - IVIr~ 11~ Booth met with Council to explain that the snow plow knocked down his new mail box and asked Council to replace it. Council explained that they do not reimburse because the mail box is on the road allowance. They did explain to Mr. Booth that they would ask the plow drivers to be more careful. DEFERRED BUSINESS I} Resolution 85-2 was passed as follows: " That Council approves of H. Cassell Ltd. repairing the Township Waste Disposal Machine at an estimated cost of $2,300.00". 2) Thf' Clf'rk rinvisen Council that he had been in contact with Northern & Central Gas regarding their plans for Medonte Township. As they are hopeful to come into Medonte Township, Council decided not to grant Consumer's Gas a franchise for Medonte Township at this time. 3) T~Qerk Rn=senX~g sample By-Laws from Tiny and Innisfil Townships regarding the removal of Top Soil. Council decided to take no action at this time. IJ) ResQ!ution 85-3 was defeated as follows: " That Council authorizes Mr. J. Hulton to attend "The Inspector and the House" course in 1985 and directs the Clerk apply for subsidy which is available through the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing". - ~) A letter from Reid and Associates listing the bridges in the Township in order of which they should be replaced was presented. Council deferred decision until the Spring Roads Tour. _Council passed a By-Law as requested by the Ministry of Transportation and Communications. - Resolution 85-4 was passed as follows: " That a By-Law restricting the weight of vehicles passing over certain bridges within the Township of Medonte be considered read a first and second time, read a third time and passed this 8th day of January, 1985 and numbered By-Law 85-1 fl.
