02 12 1985 Council Minutes THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE Minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Tuesday, February 12, 1985 at 1 :00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone. Present Reeve - I. Amos Deputy Reeve - L. Johnstone Councillors - J. Patterson - I. Beard - H. Vasey AnOPTTON OF MINI JTES ~ Resolution 85-13 was passed as follows: " That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of Council held on January 8, 1985 and the minutes of a Special Meeting of Council held on January 15, 1985 be adopted". The Clerk presented several pieces of correspondence related to roads. Jhe Treasurer presented Council with the final roads report for 1984. _ ResohJtion 85-14 was passed as follows: " That Medonte Council petition the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for subsidy on 1984 Road Expenditures in the amount of $653,631.29". The Treasurer then presented Council with the Statement of Treasurer as required under Section 243 of the Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1980. DEFERRED BUSINESS J) Council discussed the reply from the Ministry of Transportation and Comrrunication refusing to locate a flashing light at Highway 12 andCounty Road 22. Reeve Amos reported he would be meeting with the new Minister during the Good Roads Convention. 2) The Clerk presentf'n sample specifications for the tender for a radio system for the Public Works. Council directed the Clerk send them to the Ministry of Transportation and Communications for their approval. NEW BUSINESS 1) Rf'sohltion 85-1.Llvas passed as follows: " That Council write off as uncollectable accounts with Salvil Investments In the amount of $1,583.42". . 2) A request from the Town of Bradford regarding uniform lot levies was deferred for more information. ~ .3) Resolution 85-16 was passed as follows: " That Council approves of a cancellation of residential public assessment in the amount of $875., Roll 5-044, Albert C. Hounsell, for all of 1985, due to house razed by fire". Rf'sohJtioQ 85-17 was passed as follows: " That Medonte Council approves of a cancellation of business assessment In the amount of $120., Roll 81-054-0001, John McEwen, for all of 1985". ~ '" Resolution 85-18 was passed as follows: " That Council approves of a conversion of assessment from commercial public residential public in the amount of $500., Roll 4-098-13, Patrick Moore & Nancy Trawczynski, for the year 1985, as business ceased on this property". Resolution 85-19 was passed as follows: " That Council approves of a cancellation of business public assessment in the amount of $250., Roll 4-098-13-0001, Edwin Carey for 1985, due to business ceased on this property". Resolution 85-20 was passed as follows: " That Council approves of cancellation of residestial public assessment in the amount of $645., Roll 5-043-05, Shirley Adams, for all of 1984 and 1985, due to a gross error". lC;ULUGLY 1"-,1/0/ LGISe; lVVV THE CORPORATION OF THE TO WNSHIP OF MEDONTE NEW BUSINESS ( Cont,) 4) Resolution 85-21 was passed as follows: " That Ingram Amos is hereby appointed by Council to attend a meeting to be held in Coldwater on March 4, 1985 at 1 :30 P.M. to discuss the underserviced Area Program with representatives of the Ministry of Health". 5) COllnril directed the Clerk have the Roads Department clean out the hydrants in the Townsite~ and charge the water systems. - .ResolutiQn 85-22 ~passed as follows: " That General Voucher II 2 in the amount of $35,336.75 IS hereby approved for payment". Resolution 85-23 was passed as follows: " That Roads Voucher II 1 in tae amount of $41,730.77 is hereby approved for payment". - _LOCAL BOARDS & COMMITTEES 1) Resolution 85-24 was passed as follows: " That Council adopts the recommendation of the Medonte Library Board and agrees to pay those purchasing an Orillia Library Card $50.00 with a maximum of two cards for family for the year 1985". ~ R~;;!Qlution 85-25 was passed as follows: " That Council recommends file B-l/85, Hounsell, for approval". Re~olution 85-26 was passed as follows: " That Council recommends file B-2/85, Stoffregen, for approval". Resolution 85-27 was de:f€i:1feS::: as follows: " That Council recommends file B-3/85, McDermott Investments, for approval". 3) Resolution 85-28 was passed as follows: " That Council approves of Mrs. Beatrice Woodrow attending the Municipal Tax Collector's Convention to be held April 18 and 19, 1985 at Windsor, Ontario".
