THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MEDONTE
Minutes of a Special Meeting of Council of the Township of Medonte held on Monday, March
25, 1985 at 1 :00 P.M. in Council Chambers, Moonstone, Ontario.

Council met with Mr. J. Richardson who approached Council about gravel. He noted his
stockpile was decreasing and if Council wanted more it would have to be crushed.

Resolution 85-46 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of purchasing 10,000 yds. of gravel from the pit of Mr. Jim
Richardson, at a price of 50<: per yard".

Three respresentatives of Reid & Associates approached Council to explain that they
could provide Council with a set of specifications for an addition to the works garage.
They also advised Council that they have a program to do road design work for Council.
Their work would include pre design survey, culvert sizing, plans & profiles, quantities of
material, coordination with utilities and coordination with M. T. C. They estimated the
cost of their service at between 3% to 6% of the cost of the project.
They also answered questions from Council regarding bridge design and where it was
necessary.
(Council then met with Mr. E. Robertson, Township Roads Superintendent and discussed
the 1985 Roads budget.
Resolution 85-47 was passed as follows:
" That Council petitions the Ministry of Transportation & Communications for subsidy
on the 1985 program of proposed expenditures in the amount of $716,000.".
~Resolution 85-48 was passed as follows:
" That George Wilson be authorized to attend a Grader Operating Upgrading programme
to be held at Sheridan College from May 27 to May 30, 1985".
Resolution 85-49 was passed as follows:
" That Gerry Ball is hereby appointed as roads foreman for the Township of Medonte at
a rate of $8.48 per hour to be effective April 1, 1985".
Council agreed to have vertical shades installed on all the windows at an estimated
cost of $750.00".
