Minutes of a meeting of Council of the township of Medonte held on Tuesday, February 11,
1986 in Council Chambers, Moonstone, Onto

Resolution 86-37 was passed as follows:
" That the minutes of a Regular Meeting of COUlncil held on January 14, 1986 and the
minutes of special meetings of Council held on January 21, 1986 and January 29, 1986
be adopted as printed and circulated".

Council met with the Roads Superintendent and discussed roads. They requested the roads
department keep a diary. Council also agreed to test one set of radial grader tires. The
road's superintendent also requested Council further review his wages.
.1~ Resolution 86-38. was passed as follows:
" That a By-Law appointing a Deputy Fire Chief for the Medonte Township Fire
Department be considered read a first and second time, read a third time and
passed this 11 th day of February 1986, and numbered By-Law 86-5".
2} Resolution 86-39 was defeated as follows:
" That the per diem rate paid to Council be increased $ 10.00 per day to $40.00 per day
3) Resolution 86-40 was passed as follows:
" That a By-Law to provide for the remuneration and expenses for members of Council,
Local Boards and expenses for employees be considered read a first and second time,
read a third time and passed this 11 th day of February 1986 and numbered By-Law
86-6".
) ) Three land owners in Hillsdale who own land abutting an unopen road allowance
approached Council requesting they be allowed to purchase the allowance. Council
deferred a decision until the matter was discussed with the Hillsdale Police Village
Trustees.

2) Mr. G. Laidlaw of Northern & Central Gas approached Council requesting a franchise
for the Township of Medonte. They stated they were ready to go into the Horseshoe
Valley area and were investigating the Prices Corners Area. There was a lengthy
discussion regarding the franchise agreement and Council requested it be amended so
it will be a non exclusive franchise.

Resolution 86-41 was passed by recorded vote:
" Be it resolved:
1. That this Council approves the form of draft By-Law (including the franchise
agreement forming part thereof) attached hereto and authorizes the submission
thereof to the Ontario Energy Board for approval pursuant to the provisions of
Section 9 of the Municipal Franchises Act.
2. That this Council requests the Ontario Energy Board to make an Order dispensing
with the assent of the municipal electors in respect of the attached draft
By-Law (including the franchise agreement forming part thereof) pursuant to the

1) ResolutioQ 86-42 was passed as follows:
" That Council approves of a refund of the Building Permit fee for Mrs. Helen
Pritchard for the permit for a mink barn which has been revoked by Council
subject that the partially completed structure be removed.

" That this Council endorses the resolution of the Town of Wasaga Beach regarding
Liability Insurance".

A request on behalf of Mr. & Mrs. Mintz to have Council review their Official
Plan regarding severances was discussed. Council decided to discuss with their
planner an Official Plan review.

11- Resolution 86-44 was passed as follows:
" That Roads Voucher 1/ 1 in the amount of $30,289.47 IS hereby approved for payment".

Resolution 86-42. was passed as follows:
" That General Voucher 1/ 2 in the amount of $29,246.18 IS hereby approved for paymentl

A request from the Moonstone Firefighter's Association for 3 chairs for the firehalls
was presented. Council agreed to provide the chairs.

" That the roads department work week of 42 hours be effective February 21, 1986.

" That the Treasurer's 1986 wages be set at $26,500.00 per year".

Municipal Act.

and to discuss the road's budget, the resignation of the Building Inspector and a proposed
Official Plan Amendment.
